Welcome to the club! Why the size diff. to your tires?:wtf: doesn't that just fuck your handling?

I think because the bigger tires wouldn't fit on the rear.

i know, i saw your post, and read his sig, but i find that strange that only 195's would fit on the back, civics can fit bigger tires then that on there cars 195's are like bike tires (j/k)

i bought 235's all the way around only to get all four rims mounted and find that they didn't fit in the back so being the cheap ass that i am i threw some 50 195's on for the sake of being able to drive it, i think 225/60/14's might fit in the rear cuz the 235's were only off by maybe a half of an inch(rubbin on the spring

Nice 6, man. Takes me back, I tell ya. I had an 89 626, once upon a time. Pretty much looked just like that from the nose to the b piller....

you could hav egot some spacers. they cost like $8 for a pr.

spacers.....thought about that already, hmm....that opens the door for even wider tires in the front.....:D

You should see what Tom's Auto Body or Belle Plaine Auto would charge to take care of that mismatched hood. My dad's taken two vehicles to John Schuette at Belle Plaine Auto in the past and he's done very good work at a very reasonable price.

As for your tire problems. Your car came from the factory with 185/70-14s so a 235/60-14 is going to be a somewhat wider, taller tire so I can see how you ran into fitment problems. The 235's you bought are 3.74% larger in diameter than the OE setup which isn't bad on the math end of it. Without spacers, your optimal tire size is 215/60-14 or 195/65-14, both being within 1% of OEM spec.

Remember too it's not always the best idea to have tire size different between the front and back. While it seems the widest tire you can sling under the front fenders will benefit you, it won't. The big drawback is the loss in handling because now your car will be more likely to oversteer because the back tires are no longer holding the road as good as they used to in relation to the front tires and you're probably not at the point right now where traction is an issue and you need to get a bigger contact patch up front anyway.

A Geo Metro can experience understeer. Understeer happens when you are approaching the roadholding limit and the front tires begin to slide forward rather than the direction they are turned. Your car will literally 'push' forward even though the wheels are turned to the maximum in either direction.

Oversteer is when the rear tires lose their lateral grip before the front tires and the back end slides out. A sustained, controlled oversteer is called a "drift."

Depending on their setup, some cars are much more likely to experience one or the other, regardless of their power output.

To get to the point my post was is no way a flame or knock on your car and I'm sorry if that's the way it came across. I was just trying to add some information to the mix.

It sounds like you have some big plans for your 2.2 so just to make it fair, I'll flip my cards over:

Magnacor 8.5mm Wires
NGK plugs
Manual Boost Controller (haven't decided on which one)
Blitz Blow-off Valve
A'pexi N1 Cat-back
Injen Intake
3" downpipe w/testpipe

Given the flow of money I'm willing to put into the car, this should be a realistic figure for what everything should look like come late summer. Only time will tell.......:smokin:
