Nice Ride Jay!!
okay what i have already is: Brospeed 6 inch muffler , NGK plugs, three piece wing from Manny's. Leather interior. Painted calipers. Its not alot since i just got the car a while back . for Ice: i got panasonic CD deck, Lighting audio strike 350, two 12 inches earthquakes. soon to come, cold air intake ( maybe K&N filtercharger injection kit ) neon underbody kit, window washer neon light, and a body kit not yet chosen. Still stuck on the racing stripe colors... pacific blue ( turquiose ) with silver, or white or black... I know i dont want black so the two choices are silver, or white... I got gray interior with abit white or gray color wheels... SO the question is what color should i do for racing stripes? :help:

Silver for the stripe. Hey probe speed, which subs you got and how big? Nice looking car. Go with the Akimoto Racing for your intake. Love mine and I am sure Curt does too.
Okay, i am going with Silver... reason interior and wheels... white doesnt match the wheel or interior.... but thanks for the inputs for color.... i just wanted to ask opinions but i think i am going with silver.. I am NOT doing the GTS style paint.. i am going from bottom of air dam to the bottom of the rear bumper.. not the GTS style of paint.. although they will be the width size the same as the GTS style.... i guess we'll see what happens with what i do... thanks for the opinions though...! :D

Why not on the GTS stlye?
i could but i want it from the air dam to the rear bottom of the bumpers not from abit beneath the hood to the licence plate... but i also dont want to confuse ppl that its a regular GT and not a GTS... :wtf: (a turquiose GTS?)

I suggest the GTS style, because you can buy GTS replica stripes for not too much money. (not from ford though! )

Custom stripe:tup: , then it will look more original.

I like the GTS stripe. There is so little making up the front valance on our car that stripes all the way down don't look good unless you have a body kit. Just my vote:thup:

I vote for two fat lighter blue racing stripes Just 2 stripes, no tother outline strips (you know, around the fat stripe). Or Silver, but I bet matching the color of the wheels might be hard. And I should know, I tried three shops to color-match my banners to my car. :yuk: Plus, if your wheels are dirty, you wont have to worry about if your stripes match. ;) (Okay, thats a lame reason)
GTS 3 votes
Custom 2 votes
Rebby, I did see your car and that is what i want to do ... but with a standard air dam.. i dont know what for sure to do... and doing the GTS style is reasonable but it will be painted not sticked on.. but i got alot of votes for customs around here in South dakota for to match my interior and silver makes more sense with turquiose than white or black... well i got two more weeks then my car goes to the body shop for the paint job! so i would appericate more votes!! if not i am still thinking of the custom than GTS.. if i want the GTS style.. i will buy a original GTS probe.. ;)

that's what I was thinking of. They are pretty much exact replicas of what you would get at ford....and like a tenth of the price too.

if you are painting the stripes you might as well do your own style... why put all that money/effort so your car can look like the ones w/sticker stripes?
The paint job is includes repainting the air dam because of rock chipping.... and then painting the stripes so that it doesnt peel from a sticker stripe... I am painting stripes custom... final... i called the body shop to order paints so it is set for custom... the price to fix my headlight dent (the previous owner was pretty stupid to know that if you can see the pickup bumper pretty close then you are too close.) so i got that ordered, for painting air dam, stripes, headlight, and spots near the bottom of each side of the car for rock chipping, paint peels, etc.. for a total of $600.00.
Ford body shop wanted nearly $1,000.00 for it...

thats not bad at all. I hope they do a good job.
OH yeah i have seen this guy's work.. he painted a 1965 El Camino dark blue with silver stripe and it was sharp!! i should get a pic of it.. it is a buddy of mine that got it done... cost him 10,000 bc of interior and new motor, and paint job.. This shop is everything except fixing the motor.. The man who did all that and is going to do mine has done alot of muscle and import painting.. The guy also owns a 1970 pontiac Firebird.. sharp too... painted it gold.. this guy is good! and reasonable!

That is an insanely good price. He must be hooking you up fat because you know the guy with the el Camino who spent 10k....
 Consider yourself Lucky on that deal!!!

I hope you guys realize that this isn't an entire paint job......just the fixing up and the stripe.
Well.. for the El Camino... there was a four month worth of work.. re-conditioning the body, a few dents.. took out a rear panel and welded a new rear panel on one side, a after market hood with air scoop, swamp motor from another truck, ( the first esimate was 5 grand ) but after things got rolling.. the owner wanted more and more added to it.. so it ended up to 10K
For me, the front Bumper completely re painted, side skirt has a break in it so the paint peeled off.. will re solid the plastic skirt and repaint, stripes, and got the right silver to go with it.. more of a gray/silver mixed than silver/white mix...
Hey Rebby! what was the width of your stripes... i got a good around from 8 inch to 9.5 inches estimate for my stripes... i want to know bc the guy asked me how wide the stripes are going to be.... i looked at a REGULAR Ford stripes is width at 9.5 on all factory widths...
but i just got my headlight cover too and it was suppose to be 60.00 but since i used to work as a mechanic at TWO big ford dealership places.. they gave me a discount to 33.95 for one headlight cover... but still pissed off on the fog light housing and bracket.. 140.00!! EACH!!!! no way!!:bs: well anyways.. that paint job is set for the 20th of this month... and also i got my Neon light window washer coming next week..!

Tony's Words of Wisdom:
Never ever, ever, look to the dealership for service or parts unless you have some sort of special connection or there are no alternatives. A <local Ford dealer> wanted $270 for a set of NGKs (OEM) and another $200 to install them. Other price hiking that I've dealt with includes a $350 OEM fuel pump and a $130 foglight bracket. Always do your homework and be careful
Amen :D

   :yuk:    :wtf: :barf: DEALERSHIPS! onlything there good for is to look at new cars
i know that.. they wont cut me a break with the fog lights.... so i can see that PIAA fog lights are 150.00 and up for a pair of them... i was hoping to get near to factory or factory style lights.. maybe one of you guys can help.... i tried calling recycling places but no where to be found...

You can get square aftermarket driving lamps that look similar to the stock ones for a lot cheaper. Also, the stock ones are notorious for burning out...
where can i find that then?
naustin

I saw some cheapo ones at wal-mart. Otherwise, hit up Piaa's website or what is the other big name in fog/driving lights... Hella.... Or just search Ebay or Google.
If you get aftermarket ones, you can wire them into the stock wiring and use the existing switch. I don't know how exactly, but a couple of people on the board can probably tell you.
Yeah i can do that.... i am going to the city next week from the 12th to the 15th and I am picking up my Window washer neon light kit.. and I'll ask Excessive autosport about the fog lights.. I know they got PIAA for sure.. and i believe CATZ too.... when i get a either set.. i will ask around for that "how to wire" to factory harness! thanks!!
