Yeah, I know...it already happened.

I just wanted to tell you all about my b-day preasant.

SCC (Suburban Corvette Club) put together a track day at BIR, and I just HAD to go. It ran from 8-5 and was an absolute blast. I ran 100 miles, on track, getting 45 miles/tank http://www.mnsrt4.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

There were some very impressive cars there, and Ryan Bowers (another SRT) and I both got some video.

My personal best was verified by an FD equipped w/timing equipment, who followed me for a couple laps. 2:03:xx ~140 down the front straight, ~130 through turn 1, ~125 through turn 2, then down to ~70 for turn three. From turn 8, WOT shifting to 5th at the apex of 9, back down to ~70 for 10 and do it all over again.

IT FUCKING ROCKED!!!!

By comparison, autox licks my nutz.

And now...for some quotes from people who were there:

Hi Shrep. Good times yesterday. I've never seen anyone shred a street tire as well as you.
I autocrossed years ago but won't go back. Too much standing around for 5 minutes of seat time. The Sub Vettes BIR events are f**ing incredible eh. <Turbo'ed Miata

Glad to see you found us! You really had the SRT-4 hauling around the track.
Welcome aboard! <Evo8 GSR, HEAVILY modded

No pictures from me this time but...
It was a really fun day. Big turnout, great weather. I wrenched at the track more than usual. Changed out a cracked brake rotor and a power steering belt that went MIA but still got around 170 miles on track.
Ryan B. was there putting down his usual fast times on bald worn out street tires). Mike and the EVO were hauling. Patrick's Mustang too. Padocked with the SRT's from hell. Fun guys and they pick up girls at lunch (wanna ride in my car at 140 mph ?)
It is really fun hanging with the Vettes on the track. Even passed a few of them [:)] I hiked up my skirt part way and turned some 2:05.xx's. I know this car can do 2.00 but needs a better driver to do it.
Sadly that is the end of my season. Need tires and brakes (damn college tuition) [:^(]

Forgot to mention that there were a couple of significant off course incidents. The massively modded red C3 vete did some berm surfing as did the Ford GT. The GT drove off the track but there was some very costly looking body damage, maybe more underneath that we couldn't see. [:^(] < Thought you'd find this interresting...I have pics, before and after, will be posting soon.

People who were Honored with the opportunity to own Ford GTs should not be permitted to drive them unless certified by some type of international racing league.

Fucking criminial bastard didn't "drive" it off the track. The piss-ant probably wet his pants at 1/2 that car's capability, squeezed his eyes shut and cried for his mommy and thus was unable to "drive" it at all. Which is how it ended up off course.

I hope somebody dragged him out of the car and cold-cocked him.

Rich bastards....

Actually he's quite a good driver, he's much faster in his Lamborghini, even though he got his GT up to 180 on the front straight.

He's definately a prick though.

exactly. GDMF'n Kumho...well...I'm in communication w/ the TireRack right now...apparently Kumho's warranty puts it on the retailer...

Wow. I guess we found out why Kuhmo's are cheap. I still think they're a good street tire for occasional spirited driving, but obviously they don't handled porlonged high tempreature abuse very well at all.

Yeah, they were great for AutoX...

I overheated them pretty well on the track though.

if I remember correctly, all tire warrantys are void the moment you do any sort of "sport driving" on them.

well...if they can prove it...then I welcome the challenge. ;)
