I just wanted everyone's advice on what I can do to get my money back on a recall notice. I just recently got my car fixed and the next week I get a recall notice in the mail for the same part I just replaced. Is there a way I can get my money back that anyone knows of? The recall notice doesn't have a phone number listed that I can call to speak with someone. I called the shop where I got my car fixed and they said I could contact GMAC but I looked online with no luck of finding anything. I have a Chevy Impala 3.8L Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. thank you!! :D

i think you can get your money back, however, they usually issue a recall after x units have been found to be faulty, altho it depends on the dealer
did you have it done at the dealer? if they did the work, they will probablly give you some freebies instead of giving you your money, maybe like free oil changes or service, im sure if you gave them a little pressure, if you feel ambitious enough, maybe a deal on a new car..

If the dealer did the work, and now it's covered under warranty, you should be fine. Did you try to call them??

Welcome back BTW...;)

well what she is saying, she paid her car to get fixed, but there is now a recall for the part they replace, she is wondering if she can get money back for it now that it has a recall service bulletin for it

This happened to my dad once. He drives about 25,000 miles a year and hit a problem before it was well known. By the second time it needed to be fixed, they knew it was a problem with all the cars so they were able to fix it right. He never got paid for the 1st time, but it was a year or 2 later.

No, it wasn't done at a dealership. I got my oil changed at Granite City Tire and Auto and had the people there look into it because I was having problems. I don't have warranty on my car anymore either. Any suggestions?

BTW-Thanks Shrep for welcoming me back..
