Im trying to install my walbro 255, and Ive hit a big snag. 3 of the sending unit securing screws on my fuel tank hatch are completely rusted and we couldnt get them out. They ended up stripping. Now, whats a good way to go about this. The tank is roughly half to a quarter full. I dont wanna drill it out cause I dont want the tank to explode in the car with my face over it. Grinding the heads off are another not so good idea. Hot sparks and gas fumes go boom. I could attempt to chisel them off, but sparks are possible again, which go boom (ive though about a brass chisel). Does anyone have any good idea whatsoever to go about this. I really need this pump in, but I dont wanna go kaboom in the process. Thanks guys.

Just draining the tank isn't going to be enough. You MUST find a way to remove the fumes. That's the part that goes BOOM...not the liquid. ;)
