so at work, i guess i get the responsibility of breaking down the crap engines to make them more scrap metal friendly.. and give me the chance to get some extra nuts and bolts
on monday i had taken care of an 05 odyssey engine... basically it was the entire bottom end, since it was a j-series block, i took the crank, rods pistons and bearings... for my uncle's accord v6.. but the bore and stroke are way larger.. my uncle's accord has a bore and stroke 87x87 but the odyssey bore and stroke is 89x93.. hehe needs a little bit of work to make it a 3.5L
but what was wrong with that engine was that it got hit in teh front and somehow cracked the part of the block where the waterpump is attached, basically at the base of both of the heads
today i had an engine from a 00 passport(aka assport aka isuzu rodeo)
pretty much a longblock, things i found out when i broke it down, the left bank head was siezed so the valvetrain became inoperable
upon further inspection after i got the heads off, and block turned upside down, i saw that the no.1 cylinder had a flattened rod bearing
overall, that thing was screwed so that guy got a new engine..
