bore and stroke to 454ci, forged rebuild; Weiand 8-71 blower, Edlebrock profogger system, Weld pro-star drag rims, Hoosier 12" slicks, composite suspension upgrade, cage work.

And a paintjob is there is some bling left over.

Rollin 9s i wouldn't worry about paint too much.

Shoot: I'd start with a color-changing paint, window tint, and dubs. Depending on the car, maybe a new engine and some drop springs.

I'm sorta done with the whole performance thing, what with living in the city; I can't ever go that fast anyhow. I'm bout that look, y'erd.

I only have a pickup - but it would get a new bed and doors to combat the rust that's creaping in those spots, and have the whole truck repainted.

Then, I'd swap on 33x9 jeep tires on some nice rims and upgrade all the suspension components. I would not do a suspension lift. Obviously I'd have to swap gears and I'd probably put 3.73s or 4.10s in it. It has 3.55's now.

The tranny would be rebuilt and beefed up with heavy duty components and I'd invest in a good aftermarket torque converter.

That's all still only about 5-6K in stuff - including the paint job.... hmm...

Winch and aftermarket front bumper, Nerf Bars, new hitch, Maybe have the frame blasted and Rhinocoated while the body work is being done... Oh - and Headers and a new exhaust system.

The old 302 is still singing like an angel and running smooth as butter, so I'd probably leave motor alone as far as head work or a rebuild.

(Bravada) Pay off the loan.
(superbee) Finish paying for what I owe to re-built this car.

Either one, 10K would go in either car/suv.

$10k? That might finish the subframe and get a coat of paint on it. Damn, my Charger is expensive. :(

Hmm, Id do a turbo manifold, Precision Turbo SC50 50 trim T3/T04, 2.5" turbo back exhaust, Aeromotive AFPR, Supra 440 injectors, TiAL 38MM wastegate, Greddy Profec II EBC, AEM UEGO wideband O2 & controller, turbo timer, Walbro255, poly motor mounts, MSD Digital 6, Cartech 2025 FMU, FMIC--- Oh wait, I already have those. Theres the $3000 I spent on the 89GT this winter so far.

Id add body work, black roof, white body for paint, upgrade to MSnS, probly the AAS body kit cause its the only semi decent 1G kit, 17" Rota slipstreams, BF Goodrich KDW tires, M/T Slicks with dedicated pair of rims, energy suspension bushings all the way around, KSport 3" down on all corners, and put a working stereo back into the car.

yup, thats right about 8 or 9. then spend another grand on cam, headers, and exhaust. an'd i'd sure as hell be Barkin down the 1320!

the truck
twin turbo setup, proper tuning, beefed up rearend, replace the remaining suspention parts in the rear that need work.

Oh god...10k...normaly I would just sit back and tell Splat that 10k isn't even half way to getting his car into the 9's...

But I have a new perspective these days...

While my above statement may be true, ;) if I had 10k, it would be more like 30K, cause I buy parts at cost, and don't pay an ounce of labor...

30k would get my Neon into the 9s ;)

Oertdogg
03/03/2006, 02:30 PM
Actually; if I could drop $10K into my car, you would see a used GSX-R 750 in the hatch. Word.

so i'd be running 18's?

Shrep

so i'd be running 18's?'round there....

Still...lots faster than it is now... ;)

10k might (considering where it's starting) get you into the....uh...13s, MAYBE.

3 seconds is a huge jump.

Oh come on dood.

complete rebuild with forged pistons, free flowing heads. there is 6G right there. I can get a used 8-71 for about 2G, so were at 8G, another G for the work done. 9 G and i'm ATLEAST hitting 550. You CAN'T tell me I can't hit 13's with that. Hell, mebby with some good driving break a 12...
Plus I'd still have $1000 left for some stickies and suspension work.

Well, actually, i guess i'de pay the car off first. (there's $6,500) Then hit a rebuild and i'm sitting at $500 i guess for some door panels...

ok, 13s sound good.
But i'de have a spiffy cruising car!

Aaron3969
03/06/2006, 01:20 PM
Total cost on my old Probe with car was $14k, so $9K in aftermarket and transmissions.

Ive spent $3K on the new one already, and it had around $3K in aftermaket when I bought it. So its on the $6K border already.
