My dads 1992 eagle summit transmission went out on it and its pretty much done for. What are his options with it now. Call a junk yard and try to get some money for it or do you have to pay them to take it. engine is good still and its in decent shape with newer tires and all. Just wondering what are his options. thanks

My tranny died too and I ended up parting out the car to all the MNPOC members for a good sum of change. People bought the engine, doors, interior, wheels, etc. At the end, I ended up paying $40 to get it towed to a junkyard, but depending where you live, some places will actually pay you for junk cars. Look around.

My 1st probe was a package deal. Guy sold me the car, along with a parts car. So I stripped out the motor, tranny, dash, good windows, and anything that was wroth anything (Tires, everything) and brought it to a car crushing place near Brainerd and got 40 bux for the shell of the car. So if you can find any places like that in the Metro area that's what you should do.
I just noticed that you said the motor was still good. Where are you located at? I know of a few in the Northern suburbs that will give you at least 20 bux for the car.
