31s are my guess. If I remember right the older years of the F150 had small[er] wheel wells.

Eh just a little rust. The body is in great shape. It looks like no dents. Just need to fix that little bit of rust and paint it.

05/24/2006, 02:20 PM
yeah, just need to sand and then primer black. that is all the paint it is getting. no point painting a truck that is going to get scratched to shit.

Nothing that a little bondo and a few cans of primer couldn't fix

that is just surface rust, and peeling paint. it just needs to be sanded and primed. nothing major. it is a 20 year old truck, I am lucky to have a floor board and wheel wells. or a bed at all for that matter. and it only has 54k original.the original owners was an older lady that never drove it, just let it rott in her drive way, I bought it from the second owner, who occasionally drove it but still let it sit in the driveway and rust. I think I got a hell of a deal, 650 for the truck and 250 for the rims and tires.

Yeah as long as it moves it's a decent deal. :)

Not bad. My dad has a Ford about that same year with a 351W in it, and it barely holds itself together.

Ditto, I have a 1984 Ford F250 with a 460 engine. rusty to hell, but does alot of power. I use it for when I put up hay for cows.

My dad uses it to plow with in the winter, and to lug firewood around. Never washes it either, so that's probably why it's rusted out...
I'm just waiting for it to finally go, so I can take the Windsor out of it....

Ironically enough, I just bought an '89 Bronco. 5.0L, 4WD, Auto. Black with red interior. Needs a lot of work but it runs really well. Big rust holes. :(

not a moron, not at all. that thing and the other 4 trucks with those could not only get through literally anything but pull anything out, and over. they were sick, the willys with them had 750 plus a 100 shot of nos. the ranger was just over 500 on 110. those are what the real hardcore guys have, just sick you should have seen those guys just rip it all weekend long. 2 of them rolled it in the same whole less than 5 minutes apart/....good stuff
troll11911
06/14/2006, 02:34 PM
why? alot of mud trucks have them. there isn't much better that you can get for a mud truck.
Most mud trucks have SWAMPER tires, not AG tires. AG tires arent designed for high speed let alone mud.

well you don't go over 5 or 10 miles an hour in 4 or 5 feet of mud, and tractor tires aren't ment for mud?? really? the farms I grew up around had alot of mud in the spring or when watering, or during rain. At winstock they use john deers with the same tires to pull motorhome out of the mud when it rains, like in '05. swampers some, ditch witches some, and monster truck tires very few but there are plenty of guys out there running these massive tractor tires. it is nothing new in mudding. ever been to dresser?

Tractor tires are wider. I grew up on a farm too. John deere, Case IH, New Holland, you name it, I have been there. Usually we don't go out in the mud in the summer times, because there isnt a reason to go out in the mud for anything. In the winter, yea, cleaning the yard, feeding the cows and such....
Im talking about AG spraying tires "application equipment", not TRACTOR TIRES. they are wider in width. Ag tires are SKINNY ass tires that can SINK in real fast if the ground is soft enuf. Their made for HIGH off the ground to go over crops and threads to make it have good grip with the dirt in order to move, not mud.

but with the right gear ratio, height, and power you want to get to the bottom of the mud and grab the hard shit on the bottom.
when mudding you want either to float and pack, or to sink and grab. with these trucks they are built to grab the ground, you gear it for that, with most mud trucks you get mud tires that float and you gear it to spind, and build it that way. it takes alot more stiffness and power to grab, we are talking about 2 1/2 ton military axles and major power. these guys are the real hardcore, they know what they are doind in the mud. the guy with the willys that pulled me out, was the owner or previous owner of 5 or 6 of the big mud trucks out there. they aren't morons, they are the real devotee's. trust me if you talked to them you would understand they know what they are doing, and did when they built these trucks.
the next run is going to be the weekend of the 9th of july, it is in buffalo. if you want to come out, to run or just want...well let me know....they have runs for almost everyone. plus hill climb, trail riding, a grease hill, and camping....soooooo

Then Military then better start using AG tires for their HUMVEES.

no because they would lose their center of gravity, and we are talking about much bigger than a hmmv. I am talking about the M813 and similar vehicals. you can find them in junk yards, behind barns, online, some places even fabricate new ones for that reason.
An old friend of mine who's living in Rapid City, SD does mudding and trail climbing with his 85 toyota truck and he uses 33 inch swamper tires and also uses a CJ7 Jeep. He is into professional mudding and trail climbing. Goes to Nevada, Colorado and such. Never once I heard AG tires are the best mud tires for trucks. But if it works for them.. KUDOS to them, I wouldn't even. If they have great knowledge and being professional, they would of spent their money wiser.

If AG tires were so great, as stated before, the military woul dbe using them. Since they're not, I can only come to the conclusion of the general audience here that you don;t know hat you're talking about.

you can put on 33's with the stock suspension

Yes, and lift kits with the same stock hubs.
Just dont know how you install those AG hubs on a compact size model truck is mind blowing. One alone probably weights 600-2,000 Pounds. According to the picture, they were OLD style ag rims. So I'm guessing 300-400 pounds each HUB. That'll definately PULL you into the mud when you go. saying 10 mph is pretty slow in the mud, given the right to sink in faster.
