Anyone seen this car yet? I have. I thought about getting one and already have a 1969 Coronet Superbee R/T and now want a 2007 Charger Superbee R/T... This 2007 superbee has some balls! The 69 is about done. All left to do is paint. But right now my uncle is doing some welding and doing some body work. Engine, interior and most of the crap is done. So I'd say 65% is already done.

Sure to be called ‘Charger on steroids,’ the 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee comes equipped with the 6.1-liter Hemi V-8, producing 425 horsepower and 420 pound feet of torque. The 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is capable of 0-60 mph in the low five-second range, 0-100-0 in under 17-seconds and 60-0 mph braking in approximately 110 feet. Other Super Bee enhancements include functional styling, world-class ride and handling, race-inspired interior appointments and benchmark braking. Bumblebee stripes maybe an option. The legendary Super Bee nameplate made its debut in 1968 within the Dodge Coronet line, as a member of the ‘Scat Pack’ performance group.

0-100 mph in 17 sec is like DAMN! And guarantee to win a drag at 0-60 mph in the low five-second range. Being a standard 6.1L, imagine what you could add to it to make it more faster. 425 hp for a car is wow. I don't see how it is rice, it doesn't have a cardboard wing, duct tape air ducts or anything that a stupid ricer wanna-be would add to it, no NOS stickers or a sticker that the car doesn't have in it. The Super Bee sticker is optional. I still like that sticker of being a Super Bee as it is. Same way it was back in the late 60's and early 70's.

I like the lines on the new chargers. I wouldn't mind 425 HP either. Now if only they would mate that to a manual gearbox.

I most definately want to know what Rebby thinks of the new 425 hp Charger Super Bee.

If they were going to re-introduce the SuperBee, then they should have done it with a new body style, not just ripping off the Charger. Should have gona all the way like the Challenger....

I wouldn't mind 425 HP either
What good's 425 HP when you can't take it around a corner faster than 40mph? Or when it's in a 2 ton vehicle?

Defiler, What car do YOU have? A stock probe cannot hit 60 in the 5 sec range. It was probably a typo since the Jeep SRT-8 w/ basically the same engine is already over 100 mph(102.24) at the 1/4 mile time of 13.49. I realize that the Jeep probably benefits from AWD, but I'm going to assume that it weighs more than the charger version. It also does 0-60 UNDER 5 seconds.

And yes, defiler, it does say all wheel drive on the aricle I read, not 4wd.

I was indeed. Our cars trap near that in the 1/4 (With a 15.5s 1/4)

well it's actually about 90mph with mid 15's, but you'd reach 100mph in less than 2 seconds.

And yes, it is a charger, The GM stealershit in my town has the exact same yellow charger sitting out front that is posted in the photo above. If you want, I can go take a CLOSE up picture of the "CHARGER" decal on the front right grille.

Last time I checked, a real charger didn't have 4 doors...

True, and the older Merc Cougar was rear-wheel drive vs newer Merc Cougar are front wheel drive.

Would of been nice if they did make the 2-door Chargers.

I'm thinking 4 doors should not be called chargers. You can put all the performance parts, and the coolest paint in the world, but it's still a 4 door charger, and chargers should have 2 doors. Doubt rebby would change his 2 door for a 4 door.

defiler
05/31/2006, 10:39 PM
True. The 4-door chargers suck. But they're aimed right at guys having a mid-life crisis. I mean, now you dont have to buy a Ferrari or Vette. You can buy a car that still has 4doors, so you can still carry your kids around. Perfect ploy to lure buyers in. (Coincidence that these types of tools are the same people I see driving them mainly? I think not)

But IIRC, weren;t some of the very 1st Chargers 4-doors?

Telling Curt that that is a Charger is like asking Curt if he drives a manual or automatic.

Just because they might have written "Charger" on the car doesn't make it a Charger. ;)

Sort-of just like turning 18 doesn't make you man.

True, 20-30 years from now, those 2007 cars will be worth as much as your charger is worth today. Maybe less, but still consider a muscle car in 20-30 years.

What I didn't understand is why didnt they do the 2-door, 4-door options? they did that for a few cars on the line back in the 90s.

I bet the new retro cars won’t be worth shit in 30 years. Everyone will look back and realize what a joke they were.

I agree. W/all the computer controled parts (specific to each model), it's going to be tough to keep them going that long too.

The car is actually quite good. About all it needs is badges that say "Magnum Sedan".

Either way, this car is nice. For 425 HP and has all that room for a nice family trip rather than a crummy corvette space.

defiler
06/07/2006, 12:23 AM
But doesn't it weigh as much as TWO Corvettes?

Space for the family? Isn't that what the hatch/trunk is for?
