BIR June sometime

Ok so someone told me to post on here, instead of always hijacking threads elsewhere:lol: :eek:

So I want to get a group of people to go up to the tracks at BIR. Me and at least 1 freind will be going (He's got a 300ZX). But I hate going to these places alone, so I'm hoping someone can find time to take off a Wednesday night and come up there...

The when: From what it says on thier sites, gates open at 5pm. Well, if you've ever driven 169N at around 3pm, you'll know, it would be beneficial to leave closer to 2, and maybe chill in Brainerd for an hour, because around 5pm the traffic is insane in that area. No joke.

But if anyone wants to join us, just let me know when you would prefer to do it. I would prefer the last Wednesday in June, so I can scrape up the $75 it would take for this. But as said before, I just need to know when anyone would prefer to do it, because I would need to take the day off @ my work, and I need to give them 2 weeks notice b4 doing so (Stupid huge corporations... gotta hate em)

Ok so I double-checked the BIR site, and it appears they are not in fact open every Wednesday as I was informed of by a few people in the area. The nly dates available in that part of the summer are:

June 21, july 12, and July 26.

So if anyone would like to come, please inform me of which date would work best so I could try and plan to obtain the day off. Personally I was hoping it woul dbe open on the 28th, but that appears not to be so. Either way, the 21st could possibly be good too.

It's a pretty good deal too IMO. Only $20 to race, then factor in about $55 for gas there and back (Thats being extreme. Shouldnt be that much). For a grand total of $75. About what all of us payed for the dyno days, after factoring in gas.

Only problem is, I dont know if I have a helmet to wear in the car, as they say is required.....

I have never run at the track before, but I think its time to figure out where I stand with the new turbo / megasquirt setup.

Im living down in the cities now, and theres only 1/8 mile track. I need to get on the 1/4

So since this did not go down and I was forced to go to Rock Falls instead, we're trying to get another group to go up on August 23rd. Same deal, open races from 5-9pm, $20. So far I got me and 2 others, but it seemed like some others here would have been interested.

So who's up for this? If you want to go, we should probably take off about 2 or 3, as it may take us 2 hours to get there. If we leave at 2, then it would leave us time to get some food and get inspected before the running starts.

You can't beat that deal, not even with a stick. That's 1/2 the price of racing @ rock falls, and it's just as close (people told me rock falls was only 45 minutes away from here... uh-huh... riiiiiiiight..more like an hour and a half...)

I didnt run. I have a 1/4" tear in my intercooler piping, so I figured it would have been a waste of $20 to race it like that. (Sucks, cuz no place sells 1 3/4" silicon couplers for me to convert to hardpipes, and NOPLACE sells IC piping either....)


SO I just sat and watched. For $5, you can;t beat the deal (And I was already up north trying to fix my other car today....)
