I stopped at the liquor store last night in Dinkytown, and as I'm getting into my car, a guy on a bike asks for change.

I tell him, sorry bud, can't help ya, and get into my car.

As I do, he starts asking questions:

"Hey, is that a Probe? What year is it? Boy, I sure liked those cars. That's a good, old car."

So there you have it. Ford Probe: preferred car of the Minneapolis streetpeople.

Actually... I found out that in high school, when my dad bought the first Probe, well, the guy that owned before him slept in it.

But then he got a real nice storage unit that he slept in instead, so he didn't need the car.

Plus, having his license revoked for drunken driving made it expensive to risk driving the car around.

Ford cars are uncomfortable to sleep in. I can vouch for that. I slept in my 88 Escort and my 91 Escort GT, and my 89LX, and frankly, they suck.


If you're homeless, the Chryslers are the way to go:D

I got kicked outta my house for a week so i had to sleep in my Jetta, thats was shitty cuz the seats in the back were so fricken uncomfortable:angry:

so may I ask why you had to sleep in your car so many times or do i not wanna know:lol:

I didnt have a place to live 1 summer/winter. And I happened to have 3 cars that year. The 88 sucked in the winter, cuz the weatherstripping was so old and couldnt keep the cold out or the heat in:angry:


The last one (The 89LX) was because I got to school like 4 hours early and just slept the time away

I slept in my car. Never said lived. I had all my stuff stored at my g/f house, where I went to take showers.

Yeah, i know what you mean.

a couple years ago i was coming out of a sears, dood asks for some change, told him i dont have any and got into Oli. He was like, Ohh, i like those probes, I always wanted to put one of those rotarys from an rx7 in there.

I was like "yup" and drove off, i didn't really want to get into a discussion about my car with a homeless dood.

Actually, I could understand how someone could wind up homeless after going bankrupt, trying to keep his Probe running.

Not really related, but would it be weird if I spent every single dollar I had on a Ferrari F50 and considered it my home??? I mean, I would get laid like a carpet, and eventual, one of the girls would be a keeper, and then I'd just sleep at their house...
