MX6 tranny

So today i was working on replacing a snapped inner tie rod on my car. As I am peering around in there i spy the vin plate on the tranny it reads 1YVGE31D7R5130144. Thought that was quite odd as it doesnt come close to matching the car's vin and i do some checking around. Lo and behold it came out of an mx6. Anybody have a clue on which one is optimal? I know that it has a final drive of 4.11 opposed to a probe 4.38. I know that the mx6 one will get better milage but supposedly wont be as fast as the probe tranny, is there really that big of a difference? Which one would you rather have?

I thought a taller final drive would net better gas mileage?

Yup it will get better milage, and better top end. Since the car stays in the power band for longer with this tranny, do you think it would be comparable with the pgt tranny, or is there a bigger difference?
