-Remove wheel
-Mark drum and axle for proper replacement
-Spin the adjuster on the backing plate of the drum until the drum is loose on the shoes.
-Remove drum. If it doesnt come off, make sure there isn't any hardware on the front of it holding it on (I've never done probe drums, not sure if they have that). If it still doesn't come off, bash the hell out of it with a hammer (Do not hit the wheel studs).
-Clean the brake dust off the assembly.
-Inspect for old or worn springs/shoes/dust boots/seals/pawls/drums.
-Either take a picture of the assembly so you remember how it goes back together, or do one side at a time, and use the opposite side for reference.
-If you're not replacing the drums, measure to see if they are machinable (most likely they are).
-Remove the shoe return springs, then hold down springs, then any clips, then shoes.
-Install new shoes, clips, hold down springs, shoe return springs ect.
-Install drum.
-Adjust the shoes through the same hole on the backing plate.
-Bleed the system.

Okay I got thru replacing the shoes, turned the adjuster all the way in(loose), yet the drum wont slide back over the brakes. Am I missing something? Does it need some influencing?

Nah, just need to take a hammer and hit that drum out. Its most likely your shoes at the cylinder are stretched out to the max so just hit it off.. just dont chip the drums or crack it.

Thanks for the advie. It turned out I didn't have the bottom of the pads in the right position, fixed that and they went right in. Done deal.

We just did the ones on out Taurus, and they squeal now that we got the rotor back on (Had to kick the rotor back on... I hate drums)
