Dyno Day?

So how many of you would be interested in setting up another dyno day this spring/summer? I know I've gotta get to the dyno to see some #'s when the ride gets finished, but how about the rest of you?


Just a feeler... I may try and set something up, or help someone set something up, if the demand is great enough... I'm not going to start trying though untill I know we have people... I dont want it to be like last year where we only had 3 people from here show up:Pissed:


And if you are interested, what shop/area/type of dyno would you prefer?

There's quite a few choices... I'd prefer LSE again because they have the DD dyno there, but they moved all the way out to either Ramsey, so I know thats a long drive for a lot of you... I'd just like to stay away from the DynoJets, since.... well... I'd like to have some real #'s, not some #'s I could have just as easily pulled out of my ass:no: (Even though getting it dyno'd there would give me bigger #'s and be cheaper)

If anyone wants too, list up the places that we could use as possibilities, and what type of dyno's they use. I'll start with what I know;

It's a ways for me either way, but I'd be interested in getting a baseline. I'll vote LSE just because a Prober runs it (I think?).

Nope. A Prober used to work there (Shrep) but not anymore. IIRC the owner is the one with the blue Stealth TT (Like, 700AWHP or so:eek: )


Most charge around 60-75 for 3 pulls on a normal day... I'm sure with a large group (10 or more) the most likely price we'd be looking at os 60 or so for 3 pulls....


I know location is the big problem. A lot of you are from the south, and the furthest south is, like, Burnsville or Bloomington:( I'm pretty much 20minutes from all of those places, so it's not like it matters to me.... If yuo guys know of anyplace thats closer, speak up:thup:

Yeah, I wouldnt be looking at anything earlier than May 1st, but wouldnt want to go any later than June 1st. So preferably sometime in mid-late June...

I'd be open to opinions on dates/times from people. Most likely it would have to be on a weekend. And considering that it's a weekend, most shops wont want to do it much later than Noon. Maybe earlier if we have a bunch of cars (Probably not likely tho)

I had made plans to go to DB on the 31st of this month, with the rest of mnsc but I would rather go with you guys than most of those clowns.

Obviously I would like to go to a place close like Burnsville or Bloomington. But I am capable of going anywhere if you guys decide against one of those 2

A dyno day sounds awesome. I live in Woodbury so any where you guys decide you want to go is fine with me. I'd love to see some numbers (both track and dyno) once my car is mostly complete. Just keep me posted so I can make sure and take off work. Also, I have a buddy with a slightly modded 3000GT SL that I'm sure would love to get dyno'ed as well.

Thats not enough. I'm not going to try setting something up with any less than 15, since most dyno places wont run a special for under 10 people, and there's always 5 people or so that dont end up showing when these things happen.

I'm interested. However; I will not be able to commit until that week of the event. My job makes it very difficult to schedule anything. Sundays would most likely be the best day for me.

We need as many people as possible... if we can get 10 confirmed, or 15 total, I'll start calling around to get something set up...

I think I have 2-3 other non-probe buddies that might end up going. 2 for sure, the other 1 if they have money at the time:lol:

Well If I could get the engine in the probe done I would, but I doubt I can finish it my self nor get some people over to help me. I'm thinking about just throwing it in with what little things I have done to get it in the car and the car driveable.

I talked to MAPerformance in Plymouth today (Since I was there picking up parts anyways) and they said with 10 or so people they could do 50/3pulls. Not bad. (Only thing is its a DJ :grr: )
