So I originally purchased this from defiler for $1000. Back then it had a high idle and ran like shit and previously was sitting in a field for like 2 years I think he said. I have put quite a bit of money into her so I could make her run right again! I now have about $2k into her and she purrs beautifully at 750 rpm and is quite snappy for the 2.5 dohc v6 Mitsubishi motor. I currently have no tranny leaks or engine leaks or pulsating brakes or check engine light on!! When I bought it from him I had all those and more little shit wrong but now no more of any of that. Without further adue here she is:
Condition Value
Excellent
$4,700
Good
$4,285
Fair
$3,740
6043
6044
6045
6046
Defiler- If you ever want to do somthing on your car again you might want to take it to someone who knows what they are doing(IE myself or a mechanic) and doesn't screw it all up so that its done right the first time so that we don't have to do it twice.  Just a thought! Also another great example other than my sebring is your probe that was going to be done almost 6 months ago. :D

and previously was sitting in a field for like 2 years
It was sitting in a driveway under a tarp for 2 years, actually.
Nice to see you got her fixed up. If I would have had the time/money, I would have done it myself. I knew that woever bought it was getting a steal if they could fix it, since KBB value even for poor was over $2k.

wtf are you talking about? We never really touched a thing on that car, other than standard maintenance.
How the heck did you manage to blow the tweeters in the car? I knew the rear speakers in the back were toast, but the tweets were fine...
Tranny pan gasket kit plus loctite for the two stripped bolts
6 qts of synthetic atf made by valvoline
Thats news to me. I never knew someone stripped the bolts. Though why buy the gasket? I gave you one in that stack of parts...
And two things of super glue for all the broke/busted things on the car!
No shit. As nice as the interiors are on those things, they are complete piles of shit. I replaced almost 70% of the interior peices on it already once and Im suire you will have to again at one point...
btw what engine leak are you talking about?
Also another great example other than my sebring is your probe that was going to be done almost 6 months ago.
I wouldnt compare the 2. Both are completly different situations. The Sebring was a money pit since I bought it, and I had no intention of modding it or anything. It just sat there because of lack of funds and time.
The Probe actually has gotten everything done that I said it was going to. Its just that I SEVERELY underestimated the real-life time it takes to do all the work. And so far, with doing all the work myself, theres only 2 problems really that have arisen....

No new grill for it yet??
ALso, I still say you were crazy for driving that car all the way from Oak Grove to Rochester....
Bald ass tires (Slicks)
Donut on the back
Running like shit
Night-time
Pouring rain
Shitty windsheild wipers....
Now that its running, you can use the car for what it's best at:
Picking up bitches:thup:
What did the plugs look like when you pulled them? I bet they looke dlike the car was running pig rich:lol: We had just replaced them at 53k also with some good platinums...

Biggest problems are not idling right and the drivers side window leaks. I actually brought it to a couple places for the window, but no one could ever fix it.
I suppose now I have to make a comment about the topic...argh....well it's nice to see you got the car running and in good shape again.

You didn't touch a thing huh? Well maybe you will remember this post then....
If you really want to look at it you can. But I'm telling ya, the idle problem is a doozy. We've checked everything imaginable, and cant quite figure it out... ( I could even list all of the things we've checked... its a nice list:lol: )
How the heck did you manage to blow the tweeters in the car? I knew the rear speakers in the back were toast, but the tweets were fine...

The tweeters were already slightly blown just needed to replace the 6.5" in the door so you could actually hear them crackling because with the 6.5" in the condition they were in when I bought the car
No gasket in the parts sack you gave me.
The rear valve cover was leaking like a cive but it was sitting for 2 years in the "driveway"
P.S.- I am just giving you shit don't get so defense like a girl

Checked. Not replaced or messed with anything. My buddy did most of the work at the college with troublshooting and such.
Only thing I screwed up was that throttle adjuster, but I "ghetto-fixed" that:lol:
Weird.... there should have been a FRAM box with a tranny gasket in it:confused:
now just need to get the rims switched out to something chrome
For sure. I had wanted to throw on the newer chrome Sebring (Or 300M) rims, but could never find them cheap enough:(

yeah found the gasket but I will never use a cork gasket they always leak after about 6 months! Oh well it was cheap $13 for the whole kit with a rubber gasket and when I was at the parts store I could not remember what you originally had given me in the bag-o-surprises

I think Jim was referring to the price that Lance is selling his Probe for. A few people have said it isnt "right" for the car.

And to think, if Jim gets tired of the Sebring being a slow pile, the 3g Eclipse 5-speed tranny supposedly bolts right up to the 2.5L block:idea:
