Has anybody had a chance to go to the autoshow yet? I hear that they have the GT-R there (roped off). I'll probably check it out next weekend and post some pics here, but if any of you go post some pics and list the highlights here.

That GT-R is the one that I want to see in person. I'm still a little in the air on if I like the overall look or not yet. I'm hoping that it's similar to how I viewed the G35 Coupe which is that in pictures, they don't look very impressive, but in person, it's a sexy ass car. What did you think of the GT-R OKIE? What concepts are worth seeing? Was the 2009 Corvette ZR1 there?

The performance to price ratio makes it a bargain when compared to other factory cars though. According to the Top Gear review, this thing can beat the 1.5 million dollar Veyron around the ring! Claimed 0-60 in 3.5 but tested 3.3 on a pretty rough surface track. I mean really, this thing is about the same cost as 2 new 350z cars and I know which of those 2 options I would rather have. Let's just say there's a better than 0% chance that I'll get one of these within the next couple of years:D

I may never own one, but this has been my computers back round for about 2months now. The price is higher, but if you think about super cars and the performance you get for the price. I think this car takes the cake for what it is. This car is just sex on wheels, the performance, the looks, just everything about it makes an amazing vehicle. I can't wait for the release in America.

i've seen the 2009 camaro down at daytona beach during the daytona 500 last year...one sexy car...but along with the new camaro and the 7th picture down from the top i think they took way to many body lines from the newer mustangs...if you look at the hood and rear window design...in my opinion they keep ripping off the mustang and as fast as I'm sure it is it kinda wrecks it for me.

:wtf: Anyone that mistakes a GT-R for a mustang needs to be shot on the spot. If anything, the front looks kind of similar to a 4g eclipse but other than that, this thing is pretty unique in look.

The price tag is pretty good. Especially considering it costs close to the cost of the new GT-R to get an R34 GT-R stateside and legalized. If I had one "realistically" obtainable car right now, the new GT-R would be the one I would have in my garage. Ford needs to come out with something to take the place of the Probe/SVT Focus; ie- decent powered front driver. Im a Ford salesman and we dont have anything to bring to the plate officially. There are rumors of an SVT Fusion and Edge in the works. The Fiesta is gonna be a sweet little car, especially if they come out with a tweaked version of it.

There are plenty of new cars that would beat it in the quarter mile for a lot less.

Also, the R34 still looks a lot better.

I'm not sure that list would be very long keeping in mind you said NEW(and I would assume stock). There are plenty of cars that CAN go faster if modded and tuned that are less than the cost of a GT-R stock, but find me one that would still be street legal, reliable, daily drivable (even in winter), and still covered by a warranty. Plus, I don't measure a cars performance by 1/4 mile alone. The Z06 is the only thing that comes close in the 1/4 (both test about 11.6) that you might find for less but that's not a guarantee either since they both MSRP about the same too.

Well the autoshow was OK. The GT-R is definitely a better looking car in real life than in pictures. But one thing that I was disappointed on was the redesign for the Infiniti G coupe. I'll take the ~25HP less G35 coupe over the G37 coupe any day. I don't like the new STI HB design either-The Evo X is much nicer. My camera is messed up so I couldn't take any pics. The Roush Mustangs in the side rooms were badass though. They were probably the nicest looking cars after the GT-R IMO.

I still think after seeing the GTR and new Camaro in person that they're ugly as hell. the show overall sorta sucked compared to years past...

Now I did liek the look of the Challenger and all the Mustangs. My favorite section tho was checking out the new Infiniti's... I love the new G35, but my fiancee wants me to buy a new M45:eek: Uh yea... whats an extra 30k on top of the G35?

Oh and some of the women there were sooo fucking hot it was unbelievable... like the chick at the Kia counter:drool:

Yes and yes. For the redesign, The G37 is the 3.7L coupe version of the the G35 which is the sedan which is still 3.5L.

They really didn't have booth babes. There were some attractive sales people but that's about it. If you wanted booth babes you should have went to HIN when it was here last summer. I totally had my hand on this chicks ass...and she liked it:p

This wasn't University Avenue on a Friday night. Of course they had civics too, but guess what...So did the autoshow-a couple in fact. There are cars that you won't see at the autoshow though. There were plenty of "rice burners" that were there that could hand any of our asses to us in our probes. I'll even argue that 90% of the cars that were there could kick the crap out of any of our probes. If you actually went, you would have seen insane 1000+HP supras, FI 350zs'/G35's, FI Bimmers, A sick custom painted G35 that would probably cost 10,000 easy just for the paint job, an Aston Martin DB9, Lambo Murcielago, and good entertainment too including a b-boy battle and some crazy hot models including the incredibly delicious Ursula Mayes:drool: There was free shit everywhere and you could drink just about as much NOS energy drink as you could handle.
