since its in a oldsmobile i thought it was more appropriate to put this under "genera" instead of "tech", anyways, got a kenwood kdc-x790, wired it in all right and for some reason the most common radio stations in my area dont come in, the antenna and adapter is hooked up, its not a power antenna but also isn't an external antenna. any ideas on what it could be? its in a buddy's olds achieva, he upgraded from a dual that worked perfectly on the radio and we cant get signal with the kenwood.

(we get signal on certain stations and when we remove the antenna those dont come in so its something weird)

I would say it is the headunit its self. My high end Alpine doesnt get shit for radio reception.

the thing is though it worked great when it took it out of my probe and when we put it in his car it doesn't work...

try a new antenna adapter. The one you used may be faulty.

Is there a third head unit you could swap in just to see if it has problems also? If it were to have fine reception then I would blame the Kenwood. If it were to have a bad signal then I would look at the adapter and also check out some Oldsmobile forums to see if theres some kind of compatibility issues with the internal antenna or whatever it is.

I would blame the car. I have the perfect solution for you, simply drive it off a cliff, and launch an RPG at it. Problem fixed, enjoy.
