Just wondering what people normally get for mpg on a GT.
Last summer I remember getting around 18 if i was lucky, and now this year i've got the KLZE installed and had the same mileage all winter. Now this summer I've been using the midgrade gas instead of premium and I'm all the sudden getting more like 22 mpg.
But whats normal for a probe?

Last year I got anywhere from 23-26.

It all really matters on how your car is running.

Haven't driven the probe in a while but I believe on my ZE motor I was around the same as Mitch. But I also think that I have a leaking head gasket too so it could be better.

My G is all over the place on mileage. On one tank, I was around 22 mpg mixed driving and another time I as around 16 mixed driving. The car is rated at 19/26. Either way, I hate the $60.00+ fills:( (19 gallon tank with premium)

I usually get 20-22. The best I ever got was 26. 70-80mph and only stopped 2 or 3 times.

accelerating like a grandma, keeping the vacuum gauge at 10 or above, (thats extremely slow acceleration btw) i get about 25, normal driving is usually about 23 for me. and i have a check engine light for a few problems so im hoping it gets better.

What gas do you guys use? Does it make that much of a difference between 87 octane and 92?

I think a lot of people have different opinions on this but I know that when I switched from 92 to 90 octane on the GT, I would get about 20-30 miles less on a tank and a noticeable difference on power (accelerating).

If I'm remembering correct, the octane rating difference determines at what pressure the gas cumbusts into a vapor for an optimal bang in the cylinders.

i usually use the mid grade
89 i think.

It definitely makes you lose power when you use lower octane, but as far as affecting gas mileage....that's still up for debate.

In my 89GT and 93GT I averaged around 28mpg on the highway going between NE WI and Mankato when I went to MSU. I did get 32MPG with the 93GT once, which is crazy. My math was correct too. On a more recent note, i get 22mpg with strictly city mileage in my WRX with a Stage 2 tune, which makes me a VERY happy person.

In the same PGT that Aaron got 32MPG (I bought the car from him), I would get mid 20's, unless I beat the piss out of it then I would get 20 or so. I always used the good stuff though, 92+.

It's that much more? I never looked at the price. Seemed like it was a lot cheaper than that.

at first it was like 10cents more than premium at a normal station, with the boom in gas prices its between 30 and 50 cents more.

WHERE? Fleet Farm has it for 12 cents above the regular 92 octane but the fill tube on the handle thing (lol) is enlarged so it won't fit in my tank.

50 cents more than premium.

It was never that much.

It was Lucas just doesn't remember the price when he buys it. As for me I would always watch the price.

at first it was like 10cents more than premium at a normal station, with the boom in gas prices its between 30 and 50 cents more.

At first? Yes its anywhere for 10 to 20 cents more but its good gas that I have counted on. They have a quality product so of course it is going to be more then SA or quick trip.

Do you ever think before you speak? I think that you should try it.....

It has never been up to 50 cents more than the other 91. So when was the last time you were there? If they marked it that high than no one would buy it. They want to sell it so they would never do that. Roughly everytme you go up and octane like from 92 to 93 it goes up by about 10 to 15 cents depending on where you go.

thanks for pointing out you think im retarded jim BUT. i watch the price and know dam well theres been a point where ive paid a 50 cent difference. My family uses it and buys it a few times a week for racing bikes. there was a week back in like November when it was a 50 cent difference, sure it didn't last long at that price difference but it happened.

Thats not too bad really. Fleet Farm is decent priced and you can get another 4 cents off with the coupon you get at the registers. Just gotta figure out a funnel system or something to get it to fit in the gas tank...

Hey dude Mitch and I went to Thorson Oil a couple days ago and the 93+ was at 4.278 and the midgrade was 4.02. I was not trying to be a jerk I am just saying I know they would never price it that much more because then no one would ever buy it.

Had to drive up to the iron range this past saturday, got 22.5mpg on the way up with the cruise control set at 87mph and got 25.3 on the way home with cruise set at 77mph.

Those numbers made me very happy.. Considering Hibbing is a 198mile drive 1 way.

Shit, cruise at 87 is pretty gutsy goin up 35 haha. I drive that way all the time to go to grandmas house in Virginia or the cabin on Vermilion. State Troopers are usually all over the place on weekends

Oh no shit, my grandparents live in Chisholm. We've also got a little house up on Vermilion. Well actually The house is in Tower but we've got 3 boat houses in Stunts bay. Where are you at on Vermilion?

Yeah, usually I see a ton of troopers. But the whole trip I only seen 1 trooper. Very unusual.
