Paint - Acrylic Enamel

Anyone know where I can pick up a couple pints of Acrylic Enamel?? I've finally decided on Daytona Blue Metallic w/ the green metallic flakes in the clear coat.

*I'm painting this myself, so no paint shops unless they can sell the quarts*

Any other place then welle's auto, I am not taking my business there.

^ I didn't post it in here, but on saturday I went in, asked to look at paint samples. They told me they don't have samples for me to look at, I need to know the make & model of the car it's on. I told them it's a metallic & is on different cars, don't know a specific model it would be on & told him I was lookign for Daytona Blue Metallic. The man said he can't help me if I don't know a make & model. SO I left, was sitting in my car when I had a guy (another customer) ask me if I wanted him to get the sample book for me.

Even with a 'hook up', I am not taking my business there.

If it's a factory color on some cars it shouldn't be too hard to get the paint code either off the car itself or off the internet somewhere.

They have it on chevy's, audi's, nissan's.

Speedy, first, paint places can't just type in "daytona blue metallic with green flake" and come up with a color. Everything is driven by the paint code on the car and so the paint supplier needs a code like pr2 along with the year and model. A more knowledgeable sales person would/could have shown you a color chip book or two with thousands of colors to choose from and you could just search through it until you found a color that would work you. Now, about the acryllic enamel, the ONLY thing that paint like that is good for is model cars. Anything that is decent is a urethane and unfortunately for you, if you are set on a metallic, that means a base coat followed by clearcoat. Also, a couple of pints isn't going to get your entire car painted. You'll need a gallon of sprayable material for the base and probably just as much clear. I don't know what you are expecting to pay, but I know I just paid $322 for one gallon of white that went into our mixing bank in the bodyshop.

We don't have a spray booth, so urethane is out.

Shit Danni does it ever matter? SE, Base, GT.... it's still a probe... If your doing it, we want to know. Shit look at my cars thread. It took me how long, but people kept interest. :shrug:
