I know that the running board deal down there is pretty much F'ed, but how can I keep it from spreading? Really dont want holes in my doors this winter, thanks everyone.

easiest way I'd say is sand it down as much as you possibly can and spray some primer on it, rustoleom comes to mind. its really good with preventing rust and slowing it down.

I have some very easy steps for your "rust"
1. Buy a "for sale" sign
2. Sell rusty car
3. Buy non-rusty Probe
4. Be happy with the easy way out.

good plan, I only see an issue with step number 3.

Sand it down & primar it UFN.

Weekly car washes are awesome. Next spring, we can have "chemo" treatment to get rid of the rest.

I wouldn't touch it, most rust repair attempts make the situation worse. If you don't know exactly what you are doing it'll spread quick, especially in the snow belt up here.

That rust won't spread to your doors...... The only way the doors will rust is if they are rusting on their own already. As for trying to repair, honestly don't waste the time or the money. Also, washing isn't going to help at this point either. The car is on borrowed time if you have holes that large. The only way to prevent it (kind of a laugh as you are only putting it off and can never stop it) is to replace the rocker panel. Problem with that is that the panels that the rocker covers up are rusted as well. Structurally at this point, the car is compromised and nothing you can do that makes sense financially is going to cure it. Drive it through the winter and then plan on buying something else in the spring....
