I've always thought of the probe as a pretty quick slow car but a slow quick car. It can be respected, but it's really nothing to brag about. The one thing that I hated about the focus (the one time I was in one) was how cheap the interior and quality was of materials and design. I was in the back seat and you could feel the frame rattling all around you. Maybe the SVT was better built but the model I was in didn't impress me at all.

Well a few people in Florida are trying out this setup. They run any type of Flywheel. The then have some sort of stage 3 clutch disk, seems they run ACT... then just a stock pressure plate. Seems that it doesn't slip, and holds all the power you can throw at it. I think with the pressure plate not being as extreme it doesn't put as much stress on the trans.

There is one guy that races his car plenty on the street and strip. He's giving this combo a shot, and so far so good. I'm wanting to see what happens after a few months of constant abuse to see if this is a legit option. :shrug: If that works i'll be running that for sure. Cant beat a stock pedal feel, and more grip than you can ask for. :D

Yeah man for sure. Although we did go up there a week or two ago and it was kinda dead. We can definitely see what it'll be like. By then hopefully the crx will have the turbo setup fully up and running along with a decent tune. It'll take some work but all the tough stuff is already done. Is the latch at least still lockable? The cable on my Cavalier is busted but I can still take a screw driver and flip the latch manually from through the grill to open the hood. Maybe you could look into just swapping out that lock latch if yours is broken. I'd way rather do that than have to deal with hood pins.

latch got destroyed....had to use the sawzall to get the hood open...hood is in great shape, i could look into swapping in a new latch assembly but idk if it'll line up right ever, its a little bent still...and i dont think i can get it straight enough to add a new latch

Hoodpins are about $15 and any monkey with half a brain could install them.

Locking pins are nice, I had the locking pins on my car for about 1 week then I realized how stupid they were. (i paid 40 bucks for a nice set)

If you absolutley need them then go for it but otherwise stay away.
