powerglide 2 speed

anyone familiar with the power glide 2 speed tranmission chevrolet used?


it will drive forward just fine but when you put it in reverse it engages but doesn't move the car. the engine RPM's drop like it normally should when it goes into gear.

no foreign noises present at this time. trans fluid is up and not burnt or metalic looking.

66 caprice 4 door with 283 and powerglide 2 speed

Not familiar with it but sounds like band adjustment. Or else something let go.

This (http://www.tsr-racing.com/faq.php) came up looking for powerglide band adjustment. Sounds simple enough and can't hurt to try by the sound of it.

opened the tranny pan and there was a good 1/2 inch of sludge and metal shavings.

Oh damn. That sucks. I read a rebuild kit is cheap and easy though. Good luck!
