the rear drive shaft in my bronco is a collapsible type but it seems to be stuck. so when ever i switch from reverse to drive or drive to reverse, it makes a snap/ clunk noise.

my dad crawled under it when i switched through the gears and it was pulling the yoke out of the transfer case 1/2 inch. pretty sure thats not a good sign.

so, should i take the driveshaft off and take the rubber boot off and put some grease in there or what?

you --> fullsizebronco.com

Commonly it's the slipjoint that needs grease, or else you've got a bad u-joint.

u joints are fine.

when you go to fullsizebronco.com, you learn nothing. all they do is talk about 33"+ tires and lift kits. gets really annoying.

the transfercase is scaring me. i would have thought the seal for the output would have been damaged by now but its not leaking

So rather then posting the question on a board full of bronco fans, you post your question on a ford probe website. Where not only are 90% of the cars owned here FWD (and therefore no 'rear drive shaft') but a site where 90% of the people think you're a retard...

your name should be "fordbroncodurdurdur"
