i dont know what you guys are using for car care products, but "eagle one" jusat came out with a whole lineup of AMAZING products.
so far, i have the A2Z all wheel tire cleaner. WORKS AMAZING. it foams up and after 30 seconds, wash off the wheel with water. u never have to touch the wheel.
After you clean it with the A2Z, use the eagle one "Keep Clean Wheel". i saw a special on tv featuring the whole new lineup of products a few days ago, and they showed that if u put this "keep clean wheel" on your wheels, it will repel all dirt. they put honey on a wheel treated with the "keep clean wheel", and the honey just did not want to stick to it.
dunno. thought i would say it.
end rant

I haven't had good luck with the keep clean crap..If it dried clear i might know if it works or not, but the shit always makes my wheel have an opaque shit over it.

I've got some dirty ass wheels covered with caked on brake dust built up over last winter. So you're saying this will do it without any scrubbing huh?

I just use a brillo pad plus cleaner and rub lightly on the old brake dust though. I've been too lazy plus I don't have my own garden hose to use so it might not be til summer 2010 when I get to it again heh

a brillo pad is a mild abrasive and will scratch. this stuff works great

well, i used a heated 1800psi pressure washer at work on my rims and it took most of the brake dust off but it is still visible like a brownish color.
whats the next step?

if they are chrome, then be careful but use a brillo pad. those are those little green scrubbies that u use to wash dishes. i used one on my rims which are chrome the one time my e-brake froze on and put nasty brake dust over my intire rim. IT DID SCRATCH MY RIM ALOT. but i figured lots of tiny scratches was okay cuz i would rather have that than 2 brown rims....
up to you

I've got a wheel cleaner from ummm.. I can't remember but it's in a purpleish color bottle. Works reallly well on brake dust. I'll take a look out in the garage when I get a chance. But for me it was just spray the shit on let it sit and just brushed lightly with a micro fiber tower. Otherwise You could try a small ammount of PB blaster. That shit works amazing on everything.. Go quickly with it though because it may or may not eat the chrome if it's on there for a long time.
