Missed the point again. Most of us have upgraded to bigger and better cars. Why would we want to back to a shitbox Probe when we obviously got out of the platform for a reason?
I could have easily stayed in a Probe for a car, but I chose not to and sold all of mine. Now Im in a cheaper, easier to fix, cheaper to fix, more reliable, and more comfortable car, that has just as good (if not better) aftermarket, and cheap aftermarket.

lol wow. how long did it take fordbroncodave to realize hardly anyone has a probe anymore. im already bored of mine, only thing i could do now to my probe is a flywheel now. and i dont think its worth it anymore. im going to try and save up this winter and buy something next summer thats faster and more fun. im thinkin a early 90's mustang 5.0. not sure yet.
too many cars, so little space and money. it comes down to what car has the better choices of upgrades

Yes its more than 4k, but most of those parts dont sell for peanuts anymore. He might be able to get 2k out of the rare stuff, but after that, its not worth more than 1k.

Yes, I loved the experience of spending thousands trying to make my probe faster and then running a slower quarter mile.
But I do miss the looks (interior and exterior) and the hatch with fold down seats. I could put almost anything in the trunk. Who the fuck doesn't put fold down seats in a car? Subparu, that's who.

i remember how nice that car was.. man did it look good. till my buddy got it. did the same thing with that probe as he did with every other car he had. beat the shit out of it. got bored, and sold it.. stupid stupid stupid. i was working on buyin it from him..but then he sold it before i could get the chance. oh well i guess. even tho i have a little rep for speeding, and hitting medians lol. i would have taken care of it way more than the one i have now. my probe has been great to me and i dont plan on gettin rid of her for a long time. too reliable for me

i remember a jacked up old ford F150 around 1979 rear ended me in my squad car... yah.. he was drunk and i saw him coming, knew he was gonna hit me, and the semi that hit my Explorer.. now that was a ride.. i remember seeing the semi and going OH SHIT!! to waking up from my sgt trying to wake me up and onto the EMT truck.

From pictures i have seen on probetalk, i would consider the probe a safe car. Some of the cars have been really messed up, and people walk away from them. Though it is an older car, and compared to new ones probably not the best.

Agree with Mitch, from crashes Ive seen on PT I would say it is a pretty safe car actually.
well i always felt probe was safe enuf. i mean their doors were bulky as well. i just thought of being rear ended would be it bc theres not alot that could save even someone in the back seat.

I was traveling on Double Bridge RD and came up on a nasty little curvy, and half way through I met my fate. Fate being that of a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually, carrying a kabota tractor and a trailor. Yeah, I was in a 1989 Ford Probe.
The truck ran over the front of my car with the front wheel hitting my face.
The radiator of the Dodge ruptured and spilled on my left arm, the tire obviously crushed my face in several places, I lost vision in my left eye.
I am now in pretty healthy condition, I am in college at Piedmont, 18 years old. \o/ James

its kind of hard to find what the ratings were back then, thats why i asked. i figured most of the newer cars these days were pretty well built (some probably too much making them lack some mpg) but i don't really see why they keep building the big vehicles bigger and the once little cars (neon, geo, festiva) bigger. doesn't make alot of sense but to keep up with the crash ratings i guess they have to bulk them up.

every car factory are required to meet a certain federal crash rating standards and every year seems to bump it up more... im surprised they pass the Toyota Prius. get into an accident with that, youre done. every car i seen in an accident is always missing an engine first hit of the front.

i was amazed when i stepped foot into a 2009 suburban at how thick the walls were with plastic. from the outside you would think there is 20% more space inside then previous versions but this actually looked much smaller. you could probably fit a first generation suburban inside one of these and still have room. (probably not but still. bigger then they need to be)

Agree with Mitch, from crashes Ive seen on PT I would say it is a pretty safe car actually.
My buddy smoked someone from 60mph when they were at a dead stop in my old Probe... all it did was mess up the front end a little and broke the lights. He even drove it home from the accident:lol:
