My baby is a 93 GT and ever since I have got the car I have been a little curious about my alarm, mainly because it doesn't seem to work!! When I hit the lock button on the remote it locks, hit it again and the horn goes WOOOOKK, but after that it is anyones guess. You could jump kick or body slam my car and no alarm goes off, if you get inside and arm it you can just open the doors and nothing happens. Does anyone know anything about the factory alarm, does it have a shock sensor, what is supposed to trigger it, or more importantly why the hell doesn't mine do anything!!!
I will be at the meet this Saturday so if anyone can help me with my situation I would really appreciate it!!!

the factory system is (obviously) more of a remote keyless entry than an alarm... get an after market one....

But isn't it supposed to do something?? It locks the doors on the first push and arms something on the second. My manual says it should go off when the doors are opened, the trunk cylinder is removed, or another thing I don't remember right now.
Has anyone ever seen a wire diagram or know any information about the factory system? Does any have a factory alarm that happens to work?
Rebby I agree it is a piece of crap but I can't afford a new alarm system right now

My factory alarm didn't work either, I got an after market one.
In 1995 when my mom was buying a T-Bird, I sat in a Probe and pressed the lock button and the Anti-Theft light came on and I opened the door and the alarm went off, so it probably is more than a light on the dash. Yours is probably broken like mine was when I got the car.
If you dont have a blinky light on your dash (as a theft deterrent) and you absolutely need one until you get an alarm, go to radio shack and buy a 12-volt blinking LED and wire it up to a 12 volt supply of power.

FYI - they will suck your battery dry after just a short amount of time so keep that in mind...

Yeah I noticed that my light doesn't come on, but my 'charge' light which is supposed to come on when the key is in the on position doesn't come on either but my battery is charging so I don't know if the bulbs are bad or what.
I am probably going to take out my dash/gauge thing-a-ma-bob at the meet and check those bulbs.
I hope your wiring diagrams say something because I couldn't find a thing about alarms in my Hayes manual in any of those diagrams.
So everyone bring some money to the meet, to help me buy a new alarm  Please....

When I take my face plate off of my stereo it has a LED behind it that blinks, so that helps a little.
I just need to set something up that sends a 50,000 V bolt of electricity that goes straight for the eyes of who even looks at my car the wrong way... Anyone ever done this or want to help??
