Sometimes when I arm or disarm my DEI Hornet, the lights will flash but they stay on and I cant get them to turn off. I have to keep hitting arm/disarm until they turn off. The brain will click as it turns them on/off and when they stay on, it still clicks but not as loud but the lights just stay on. I had to pull the fuse on it tonight because they wouldn't turn off. I'm gessing its a bad relay? Anybody have any ideas or know of a place I can take it to or send it to?

it could be a bad relay but it would be in the alarm brain itself.. where did you get the alarm???

thats what i was thinking too. the alarm came with the car. i think its about as old as the car. i emailed dei to see if and how i can get it repaired. i don't really care for the expense of a new alarm right now.

I just got an email from DEI saying that they cannot repair the control module and I would need to buy a new one. they also said they don't last that long.
so what did I get out of this email: if you own a dei alarm, the dei company doesn't even support it and you should expect for it to have relay problems within a few years.
even though I dont want to do this, I'll probably just disconnect the wire to my parking lights.

even though I dont want to do this, I'll probably just disconnect the wire to my parking lights. i would call them direct and tell them that as a result i will NEVER buy another one of their alarms and that i'm gonna tell all 4000+ people on probetalk to never buy one either.. you may get something out of them then... :) worth a try anyway, what have you got to lose???

I dont know. I have a hornet, whatever that is. It works off the factory keyless entry, so you can use the lock/unlock buttons in the car to work it! They dont turn it off though if it is set off, so the inside buttons arent a very big deal. there is a proximity circuit on it, which doesnt work. whoever bought it probably paid a good amount for it for all that is does, but its making me mad. i pulled the fuse on it.

I also own a DEI (viper) and I just swapped it in to replace my alpine alarm it I have had no problems and I even hooked most of it up myself!! (remote start, keyless, even have the option to control my horn and sunroof too)

that was pretty sweet when you flashed the lights from the front of the store to the back of the parking lot. what is the range on it?
I ended up pulling the fuse on the parking light wire coming out of the alarm brain. I opened it up and the relay is very obvious. would this be a relay i could get at radio shack? would somebody have the skill to replace the relay for me without frying the stuff on the board? I tried putting a mod chip in my fiends's playstation and fried it!
