I FOUND THE LEAK. Its a bar that leads to the back of the car. It connects to the transmission and has boot on the end of it.

yeah yeah, its the shifter assembly. I NEED HELP THOUGH. Is anyone willing to help me. Its leaking from the shift rod into the transmission. The little cv boot thing was off and its leaking about a cup each time. It looks like it needs a o-ring or seal. Has anyone had this problem or have done this. The people at ford say its 600.00 but i think its shit. Can anyone help me.:help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

ford says everything is $600+... they wanted $750 to do a half-shaft... :wtf:

don't listen to them.... i have no idea what can be done but if there is a boot on it i'm sure that SOMEBODY has had to do this... check on PT and put a link to that thread here... or... what did ford say had to be done???

I was looking at the leak at i cant tell if its that or something above it. Its not the seal on the trans-axile. Rebby, Jeremy, Racer do you know if anything like a cable or wire link goes there that would cause a leak??

i'm not sure... i don't remember seeing anything there but i've never looked for a wire/cable either...

Now im almost positive its the seal on the shift rod into the trans. I dunno how long its going to take. I wish i had someone to help me do it.

yeah its was that eight dollar seal. It should only take about 3 hours or 4 hours if you have someone there to help you thought it. The tricky part is getting the seal out and putting it back in straight so that you dont ruin it. You just take out the cross-member bar, then the shift rod linkage, then you get the nut under the boot and whalla. You can get the seal out with the right tools. I need more time since I used a wrench.
