I just made the switch to Mibil One and am trying to figure out what the best filter is. I just ordered 2 of the M1-207 filters (2x the size of th M1-110) and it'll be interesting if it filters better. What do the rest of you use?? Right now i'm using the Penske ones. They are actually supposed to be pretty good filters.

I use mobil 1, but I'm not sure on the part number. There are 2 that work with the probe (not including the corvette 207)

I like penske filters a lot. On my last oil change I made the switch to Mobil 1 and I expected my oil to become black in a matter of weeks. Its been a few months now and its still close to it's original color. I don't know if this is because of the penske filter but I am going to try an oversized mobil 1 filter next and then after that a mazda filter. I just look for how long it takes for the oil to become black on the dipstick. The Penske is at about 2000 miles now and the oil still looks good.

Iv'e been using Beck Arnley, used to get at Checker but now they don't carry them had to order from Wrenchead. I like them because they have a round gasket instead of flat.

Thats like saying you buy Penzoil because you like the way the bottle looks, and Penzoil happens to be pretty shitty shit. I dont know anything about those filters but i'm saying don't judge a book by its cover.

I just changed my oil and put on one of the M1-207 oversized filters and they are huge! I didn't think it was going to fit because of the oil pan being in the way but it went on. I first put 4.5 quarts of M1 in, ran it and it was a quart low, put a quart in, ran it for a day and it was half a quart low so i put the final quart of the case of M1 i bought into the thing. I ended up puting 6 quarts in! Hopefully the extra costs of oil pay for them selves in cleaner oil and possibly cooler oil. On my next change I think i'm gonna try a mazda filter.

I'm gonna change my oil at the Valley dealership in Waconia tomorrow(using the card Eric sold me:)) will they agree to put on the oversized oil filter? What do i ask for?

They probably wont put the oversized filter on for liability reasons. Just get your money's worth and then switch to Mobil1 :D Remember to get your free car wash, maybe get your tires rotatied too. They are only open to 5:30 so get there earlier than 5:00.

I'm going there on tuesday, i already got my tires rotated, so i don't need to do that. I will ask them about the filter thing anyways just to see what they say. Do they offer different oil/filter brands, if they do, which one is the best?
