So yeah. I tore out all the interior again and started stripping off the dyna-mat I spent like 2 months putting on...

Of course when I took the car out by-myself and made a left turn with all 4 tires screaming and the back end trying to step out at 50mph and then accelerated to 90 in the space of about a block....it was worth it.... ;) Especially with no plastic or carpet to mute the sounds of music coming from the big hole in my exhaust and those poor punished tires. :D

I think I'm going to install the stereo set-up in Ann's car. Screw pretty and plush. My car is stayin like it was meant to. Lean and mean
:bd: 2 weight reduction

Does anybody know if we can get 17" steelies for our cars? Low profiles on Steelies.... ymmmm...

i think 17" steelies might be a little heavier then a set of quality 17" alloys. the alloys would cost more but it would be worth it. hell, 17" steelies might even weigh more than your stockers. course you would gain the advantage of a smaller side wall...

sounds like a terrible waste of dynomat... oh well...

Eh. It was $100 and I still have half the roll. So yeah, I wasted $50 bucks on it. Unless I leave some of it and just spray paint over it. I think I'm going to spray paint the whole inside of the car a nice even color.... And the front carpet is comeing out too.

Once I get that new rear hatch installed, I think I'm going to have the windows tinted again.

Check this out. Anns parents got this "platinum" window tinting stuff at Home Depot for their living room and it is supposed to make the windows more efficient and keep the furniture from fading. It makes the windows reflective, like an office building, but it is like 70% light transmission. When you're up close you can see right through it. When your 10 to 20 yards away, it is like a mirror.

SO um who thinks I can get away with it on my car??

rebby
07/25/2003, 09:53 AM
you won't get away with it. although it might be 100% legal, the cops won't see it that way (for good reason too).

i'm assuming that the yard had the hatch then?

But he says when you get up close to it, it's transparent.

But cops are still picky.

I can attest to that... He took me out with it and I didn't have any "oh shit stick" to hold on to... Nick's a crazy son of a beaatch. but i now have a respect for the simple suspension mods that he did.

yes, yes he is... he's always been like that. even on his bike before he got old enough to be entrusted with keys.... ;)

anyway, call about that hatch and lemme know.

So i bought that rear hatch. It is off a 93 Base. Black, no wiper, no spoiler.... It isn't perfect, but it is hella better than the hatch I got. I have to pick it up somehow here tomorrow....

That should be on this weekend.

SO this week I:

1.) Gutted the interior and removed everything, including the center counsel and the front carpet.

2.)Swapped Defylaw (THANKS Aaron!!) for his Borla/testpipe setup

3.)Swapping off rear hatch for better one...

4.) Should be getting my sts that I got from Josh, and Ben cut and welded for me. (thanks guys!)

5.) planning to start that tint project once the rear hatch is on.

:D big week.

I'd say check those Kosei wheels out. Really light weight, and they look good too. In 17's I don't think they cost too much.

Nick, gimme a call if you need some help... well, DON'T call me if you need help. Call me if you need someone to take up oxygen and space while your working.

Do want rubber floor mats? I have some folks that recently took out the stock rubber floor out of ex-cop cars for carpet. I can see if they still have them. You can cut to fit.

It's light, cuts sound alittle, and hoses off easy.

Best thing, is these were in good condition for ex cop cars IE puke free.

Thanks anyway. I've gone so far beyond the point of sanity, that adding anything back into the car now would totally undermine the only thing i've got going with this project - which is the consistancy of its ridiculousness. ;)

OK. Well yesterday I stripped all that goooey crap off the door that used to hold the plastic water barrier, and I started spraypainting the interior. I ran all the power window wiring inside the door, rather than on the outside, and then I painted the inside of the door adn the window track/pulleys etc. It looks way better. And the door panel is sooo clean now with no wiring or tar or crap. It actually looks good! Tonight the passenger side, and tomorrow I'll be finishing stripping the factory sound deadening out of the back ( you know the asphalt stuff) and then I'll tape off and pretty up the wiring the has to stay and then Paint the rest of the inside of the car that wonderful nice uniform black color. ;)
