OK,

I have a second gen probe. What happened is when I was disassembling the dash to work with some stuff, The controller for the different airflow paths unplugged in the back. Now only the defrost path for air works no matter what I turn the selector to. The heat controller works (cold-hot) but the ac doesn't. I'm assuming the system is vacuum operated and the vacuum was lost and the defrost path is the default, but maybe just I am lost. Please help with any suggestions.

I know that there are chambers above feet area that when engaged, pass air to different paths. But whatever. Help if you can.

Plug it back in and it should work.

It is vac controlled and you will probably have some issues with the motor running lean if you don't plug it all back in.

I've plugged everything back in. And the sad thing is, when I went to my other probe to figure out what might be wrong, the same damn thing happened to that probe. Now I got two messed up probes.

What I think happened is when the tubes are disconnected, the vacuum was lost. When you put it back together, the vacuum would have to be re-established in order for it to work. The question is, am I right, and if so, how the hell do I re-establish vacuum?

Please help before it get's too cold!

Starting the engine should have re established vaccume. Try unplugging it and repluggin it in while the engine is running.

If that doesn't work, maybe something else is unplugged, or maybe stuff isn't plugged into the right places??

Just a shot in the dark...
