Do you guys think NOS would be safe for a KL-03 with 90,000 miles? Would I want the dry or wet system for our cars. Whats all this **shot stuff, etc. Would it be a DIY install? Reputible retailer?

i would think that it would be fine as long as you didn't get greedy w/it... i would do i/e first though...

Do a compression check.....if all the cylinders look ok.....it's good. Install doesn't looks fun, but it's worth it. 50 shot is good to start out with. Means 50 hp increase, but that's not exactly what it gives you......some guy ran 125 on his probe (there was like a 5 hp increase on the dyno over a 100 shot) so basically 5 more hp and much more risk.

Doed anybody have the tool(s) to do a compression check? If I go out and buy the guage, should they have the extension thing too?? Do I pretty much just hook it up and start the car? Wont it shoot gas into the cylinder and not ignite then, and coat the walls with gas causing a bigger boom when I start it with the spark plug back in?

intake/exhaust

not sure about your other question though....makes me wonder too.......

i have the tool for a compression test... and it doesn't really cause a problem w/gas... u just turn it over quick.. you don't actually run it @ all...

I would do intake and exhaust before I put nos on my car. not really sure about the exhaust manifold though. Would I want a certain set of headers with nos? I have heard there aren't warranties on headers that are used on cars with nos.

would the stock exhaust manifold be ok with nos for a little while?

would the stock exhaust manifold be ok with nos for a little while? aftermarket headers make nearly NO difference on the 2.5L's... you would be fine w/just a cat back...

They make more of a difference than curt keeps saying. The problem is they are so damn expensive for a decent set of headers. I think bosal is the only one right now that makes decent ones and they're about $500. Considering that an NOS kit is around $500, it just doesn't seem right........

alright, maybe they do... however, everything that i hear about this discourages the purchase saying that they add only a few hp and it's not even worth the time or money... however, i've never tried and don't drive a gt so...

About the install: When my car was on a lift, I showed my friends why headers were so difficult on the PGT. You can't really even see the exhaust manifolds on the rear bank....even when it's on a lift.

Here is some info on the bosal headers that some guy had on his car.

difference in peak power: 5.2hp and 4.2ft-lbs.
difference max: 9.6hp and 7ft-lbs

So.......they do make some power, but not really worth $500.
