View Full Version : My tire popped

I was pulling into Target parking lot and my front left wheel hit a huge pothole, I didn't even see it coming. As soon as I parked I got out to look at it and heard it leaking. Unfortunately the puncture is in the sidewall so there is no chance of repair (unless anyone can tell me otherwise).
The only place that I saw in the yellow pages dealing yokohama tires is Tires Plus and they said they would have to order it and it would cost $193. Thats bullshit, online the tires cost $138, but I would probably have to wait a bit longer to get it.
Anyway if you guys have any suggestions I would be very appreciative. I've already looked on ebay and yahoo auctions for used tires and nothing. I need a 225/40zr18, preferably a yokohama parada.

If I do buy a new tire then I will definitely order it online either from victoriatire.com or discounttire.com. The other option is to wait, put on my stock rims + tires and wait until I find a better deal, like for example on yahoo auctions someone is selling 4 falkon fk-04 tires the same size as mine, in almost new condition, and I could probably get all 4 for less than $400. (http://page.auctions.yahoo.com/auction/51654430)
Advice is welcome :)

what's the insurance thing?? I know the tires have a warranty, but I never heard of any insurance I could get with them...or do you mean some kind of coverage through my insurance company??

Usually, when you a buy a tire they ask if you want some kind of insurance on it. They agree to replace it if you get a puncture in the sidewall or something. Usually like $20 or $30 per tire. I have it with my normal tires (not on my snow tires though)

Crappy!
I might recommend a 5th rim with a tire on it as well... If it happens again, you might bend a rim. If it's several years from now, you might not be able to finad a rim... Pretty expensive insurance though.
Sorry to hear it...
