aspitfire told me that ngk v-power plugs are better than bosch platinum +4. I also saw a pt thread about it. ill probably get 6 of the v-powers and check out the difference. anybody else have experience between these two?

if i think the ngk's are better, will i still be able to get in on bosche's guarantee about my plugs if I dont have the recepts or packaging? im sure they look new, i put them in when i replaced my vc gaskets. if your not familiar with the guarantee, it says bosch will pay for the plugs if you don't feel a difference.

the thing is with bosch plugs the 4 electrodes dont all fire at once the spark goes to the closest and least resistive point.
so if one is closer than others thats where it will always fire.
that and they are pre gapped for their specs. so if you want a wider gap for a bigger spark forget it. NGK plugs (i have em)
have a v groove in the electrode and the core so the spark cernal can have lots of exposure. more flame = more gas spent and more power. thats y they use high energy ignitions in cars bigger spark and they can widen the gap too. burns more fuel. or cars stock barely burn all the fuel that is why there are o2 sensors to adjust fuel and timming, to help more burn. with a larger spark you burn more fuel and make more power, in the event that you add fuel pressure and/or add bigger injectors, you want to be able to burn that excess fuel.
better plugs that optimize our factory spark power already help but like I said the factory coil just doesnt give enough umph.
that is true with all stock ignitions.
That is why I plan on adding a external coil system and high flow fp at the same time.

I replaced mine with v-powers. Like jeremey says (and I agree with him) the electricity jumps to the easiest place it can. It will never (or rarely....) go to all 4 spots.......I don't like them. v-powers are expensive as it is, and those damn iridium ones are a friggen fortune.......

where are you looking? at auto parts giant they have them for $2.12. is that what you mean by expensive? i paid $5.99 a plug for my platinum+4's.

$2 is expensive for spark plugs! $6 is a ton! And those iridium or whatever ones are like $10-20!!!

damn, $6 didnt seem that bad when i bought the bosches. I felt that I was making an investment or something becasuse they have a 100,000 mile guarantee. I'm gonna get some ngk;s though because I don't feel a difference with the +4's.

Do you think I could take them to checker and ask for my money back and not have a recept or original packaging? Would bosch even take them for their guarantee if I dont have the stuff? Anybody want some +4's with about 1000 miles on them for $3 a plug? :D

Your only chance is to sell them. They'd never take back used ones. spark plugs don't really matter. As long as you have a decent brand, they will work fine. The expensive ones are ones that say they will last long. Why should I pay like 3-4 times as much if they're going to last only twice as long or less?
