I found $42 o2 sensors, what is the difference between them and the $100 ones? I need to replace mine, don't want to spend extra $$$ if i don't have to.

I found them on the discountautoparts.com page. They are all KEM brand. With the difference so high in price, what is the difference between them?

Ford charges $400 for them. The difference is you will have to cut and solder the wires together instead of just plugging it in.

i'm not sure what the differences are... you could always call them and ask or buy one and try it... if it doesn't work, send it back... or pull an eric and "borrow" one...

Be sure you get one with the correct amount of wires. Mine have four wires, yours are probably the same but i would just go and look at the one on the front and be sure. The universal ones will probably be fine. You just have to cut the sensor off the old harness and splice in the new one. Check out prices at buyoxygensensors.com also.

don't worry, i checked, there are 4 wires. I did enough research to know that much:p

I didn't order them yet, and probably won't until after training. Besides right now I barely have enough cash for gas, i'll start smooching off my parents :D. I found them on www.discountautoparts.com[URL]

EEEWWWWWW!
1) Since the O2 sensors are stuck into the exhaust manifolds, and the manifolds are attached to the engine block, which is always pulled out of a car before it gets put in the field, it's not like you're going to find any anyways.
2) Nothing like buying someone elses crappy worn out sensor that's been sitting in a field for a year rusting.
Maybe I misunderstood something, but I highly recommend against any used fuel, exhaust, or emissions parts from a junkyard (unless you find a 1 year old car or something unlikely for a PGT).
A universal sensor should work great. You can also get them at www.carparts.com as well, I think they are Bosch sensors? If they are, you can be certain that they are good. These others should be just fine as well. It's not rocket science making an O2 sensor, mostly you're paying for 3 different companies to get their hands on the distribution process to get it to you. Anyone cheaper is either taking less margin or cutting out a step.

tracer, you obviously didn't know that i found an o2 sensor sticking out of an exhaust manifold @ john's and i just pocketed it and it ended up working.

The one eric found probably isn't be as good as a new one, but since it works and it was free, there's nothing wrong with it.

Last time when Eric and I went to the John's, i found an o2 sensor with the harness and pocketed it. I polished the outside of it a little bit and put it in, the harness was a little bit short, but i made it work:D . I reset the computer and took it for a test drive until the CEL light came on. I came home, checked the codes and the only one that was there was #24, the rear o2 sensor. That means that the junk yard one works!!!!! The sensor that i took out of the front, i tried cleaning it, but it still didnt' work, so i cut off the metal jacket with the holes and cleaned the sensor itself with my dremel. Now i'm debating as to try switching the junk yard one with this one to see if it works, or is it not a good idea to put it in without the jacket?
I don't feel like raising the car up and fighting with the rear one until i'm sure that the one i'm going to replace it with is a working one.
Thanks

I'll figure out how to get to the rear one, but is it ok to put in the sensor without that protective metal jacket with the holes, or will it destroy the sensor part?

kind of like how dell sent me a backup/surge protector thingy. I said, "I hope it has an audible alert so I know if it switches to battery power." then someone says, "Or you could just notice that the lights went off."

I put in the o2 sensor, reset the computer, took the car for a test drive, and the code showed up for that sensor. When i took it out, I touched the tip with my wrench and it shattered (probably cuz it was hot) and inside was this plastic thing, which i think was the actual sensor itself. Then put in the junk yard sensor that worked. I kept the bad one in case i need the harness for the rear one.

you shouldn't really be messing with that area of the car if its hot  I waited until the next morning to put my 02 sensor in just so that it wouldn't be hot.
