Well I got my megasquirt all wired up and got the engine running pretty well thanks to Ryanpzz on PT. Now all I have to do is A LOT of tuning and I will never have to worry about running lean at partial throttle boost and I got rid of that stupid FMU :smokin:
Wish me luck tuning my first standalone:thup:
oh wow, good luck brotha!

I was looking at buying one of the megasquirt kits and just putting it together for fun, i could use it for a project at school since im an Electronics Engineering Tech Major.
And if i got it all working properly i could put it on my car....sposed to improve even N/A cars.
Have fun with the tuning, i'm sure it will be a breeze for you. :D

Now all you need is the Squirt n' Spark. Is the spark portion of the line figured out for out cars yet, or still in experimentation? If I boost sometime in the future, this kit is a MAJOR possibility for me.

Ryanpzz has the spark part figured out for our cars but I am takin it one step at a time ;)

We seem to be thinking along the same lines all the time. I think about boosting, take forever to finish, and see that you have done the same thing.
I decided to go MegaSquirt in early July, built the computer, but have yet to finish the rest of my supercharger setup, so I haven't installed it yet.
My intercooler piping is complete except for my second BOV flange. The top feed fuel rails need to be finish welded. Then everything needs to be torn down for polish, paint, etc. Then I need to re-assemble everything, plumb the fuel, coolant, and tranny, and wire all of my new toys up.
Ben ... I'll be giving you a call some time in the near future to discuss our fuel computers and to get caught up. If you ever want to do some serious tuning, you can always drive to Fargo and I can transfer my wideband to your car.
Looks good, keep up the good work.

 wideband
Actually I sold the millenia's and went another route but then decided to go megasquirt but I have hit the limit (90% duty cycle) on my stocker's. I'm looking for some 440's or some 35#'ers and I will be makin a fuel rail for them. but for now it's just REALLY REALLY FUN
Good luck with your project
At least someone is going about boost the right way around here ;)

hey. this is my senior project. ryan from pt. is supplying me with all the parts, but just not the board assembled the wiring harness done and the CD for my 1st gen. what does the spark part due? just spark? so a msd 6a would do the same?

The spark is a full standalone too just like the megasquirt. A 6a is just a ignition amplifier.

It is a cheap aftermarket ECU system orinally designed for turning old carbed motors like GM 350s and other carbed motors into ones with a full fuel injection system. Some genius tinkered and found a way to make them work with out car and BOOM, a full standalone for around $500 total, rather than $2000+ youd pay for a TECIII or something similar.

Here's some pictures and what not of my custom fuel rail that is 85% done. All that I need to do is drill out the pipe inside the top injector bosses to let the fuel flow to the top of the injectors. The reason the rail doesn't have any tabs for mounting hardware is because I plan on holding the rail in place with some custom rubber wedges that will press against the intake manifold runner.
The rail will be painted flat black, just like everything that is steel in my engine bay. The pictures with the tape measure are simply to show the rough dimensions. The threaded end caps were cut from 1" solid stock, the center pipe is 3/4" OD seamless pipe from McMmaster Carr, and the injector bosses were machined from 3/4" solid stock. The ID of the bosses was bored to .538 and then flex honed to .540 to provide a good mating surface and proper dimension for good O-ring crush. Total cost approximately $20.00 including $10.00 for the -6 AN fittings. PMO fuel rail $300+ IIRC.
For Ben - I still have my failed attempt. If you want it for reference, let me know and I can send it to you. If there is any interest from anyone else, I can always make detail drawings that show where to place the bosses, what angle, etc.
Anyways ... to the pictures
