Yesterday i was coming back from best buy in roseville and i started to feel like my car is missing when ever i let go of the clutch or gas pedal. I didnt think anything of it but a nice smell went up into my nose and it made me think of burning brakes. So i exit of the highway and into a local gas station , park, and I see the nice smoke coming from both of the back wheels. Turns out that my cable got stuck and never freed up. So now i have the problem where it locks everytime i pull on the e-brake.
Does anyone know a temp solution to this??

You can pull it away from the brake, but everytime you use the e-brake they will stick again. Shouldn't ford replace those for free? I mean....it happens to everyone....

drums......
I don't really understand why they are so bad though. They seem like they are a decent design. But I know they just can't compeat with discs (on the rear it doesn't really matter though)

I tried using my e-brake a couple of weeks ago to try and burn out. I pulled up on it and floored it and nothing happened. Turns out the guy before me had disconnected it so I loosened up the cable and put the "T" cable back onto the brake and then pulled it and sure enough it stuck. So after a couple of hours of WD-40 and some PB catalyst stuff that works pretty good on rusted things and pulling and pounding on the lever thing I got it so that it no longer sticks when I use it. So it can be done it just takes some time and some coaxing.
I offer this service to anyone for about $15 :)

Other than getting under the car and kicking it back off everytime, I never found anything. I pulled one off to see if I could clean it, but the little bearings and all in there were toasted.
Pretty much I got two new calipers from Brake Equipment warehouse just north of downtown Mpls, about $75 each including pads.
You'll have to bleed the brakes, but overall it's not a tough job as long as you don't run into any frozen bolts.
