for those of you that are unaware the way tint is applied to windows like the rear of a probe is done in multiple pcs for a few reasons;
first- the curvature of the window requires it other wise we would get wrinkles
second- the tint comes on rolls (kinda like paper towels) and is only really used in one length, which is approx 20" wide
third-a good shop starts out laying the tint over the out side of the window to use it as a template , then usually in 3 or less strips the window is covered.
the tinter then over laps the tint just enough that all the gaps created by the curved window are gone. then to eliminate the overly dark spots due to two layers of tint theycut a seam in it.
this is the most crucial part and is why you need a truely skilled hand to do it.
the seam must be straight and clean so that it isnt visible to the naked eye.
after time ( many years usually) the tint sort of shrinks and sometimes the seams are visible.
but when done correctly (like mine was ) it still looks good. and my tint is atleast 5+ years old(assumable by the purple faded color in the rear)
