which car has this problem??
my books dont mention any fuel cut off circuit
the only thing mentioned to actually control the fuel is the pump, reg and pcm but no cut circuit between them so I think that the pcm is telling the pump to stop or closing the regulator

it's beth's car... there is a cut off switch in the hatch... if you are looking @ it from the back of the car you will see it in the lower left corner under the carpet...

what year is her car??
it should be just a relay that either grounds out or disconnects a circuit
just test the laeds going into the box and expiriment

I don't know if I have one, but it's definetly mentioned in my manual. (yes, I read the whole thing) it says the switch will be tripped after a major accident. I think I'll go look.

It's there, you just don't recognize it. We all have them.

I don't have any diagrams, but you might figure it out by pressing the buttons on it and using a voltmeter to check continuity on it. Of course if it's busted, that won't work.

As a safety measure, I think you should have it in there. If she gets rear ended (ahem) and a fuel leak happens, it'll kill the pump to help keep the fire potential down. If it went as far as an insurance company checking out somethin like that after a wreck (1 in a million, but possible), they'd see what you did and deny everything you might have coming.

John's auto parts up here on Central and 100th or so has several Probes, also 626's. Any of them would have this, it'd probably run you 5 bucks. Plus it's fun to search around the yards.

yeah, you make some good points... is there any chance that you could go and check that out for me???

Hah, you weenie.

It's cold out, and I'm old. I'll get my way up there again, but it won't be until the snow's gone. If you can wait, then it's no problem.

If you need it soon, well, it's "John's Auto Parts" and is in the phone book, so you can call to see how many Probes are out there (it's usually 3 or 4 at a time)... It's not very far off of highway 10, wouldn't take you more than 30 minutes max, probably more like 20.

So does this place have any mx-3's? specifically the flywheel from v-6 mx-3's??? :D

Hmm, I've never seen an MX-3 up there, but then again I never really was looking for one either.

Usually these cars there, and in other yards, have the engines cut out of them, so you'd have to look for that piece from them directly, wouldn't just find it wandering the grounds, know what I mean? They might have a MX-3 engine though, you'd have to call. Remember it has to be the little 6 cylinder for it to fit, the 4 is different.

I saw some of your PT posts some time back where you were looking for that flywheel, and I thought you'd said that you looked everywhere in Minnesota. Wasn't quite everywhere then, was it?

There's lots of junk yards. I just don't know where all of them are.
