I have the opporitunity to get a high compression engine... and by high compression i'm talking 13.5:1.

what ways are there to get it to work with pump gas. I've gone through a couple different options with friends of mine.

a. water injection
b. premium plus 104 octane booster and some tricky timing
c. swap pistons - (not really worth it)

Is there anything else i could consider?

ehhh...good luck...I think the only way you'll be able to have that is by paying $5/gallon for 110.

well, the way gas is going now, we'll all be paying $5 a gallon

(oh crap, now this is going to get off topic quick)

probably not a safe way that you could just pull up and pump gas into it.

You could try some of the DIY octane boosters out there. Check PT for a couple recipies. ;) (still not going to be cheap though  )

What car is this engine for? What are some specs on it?

elite has c16, which i belive is 116 octane, the only stations i KNOW that have 100+ gas are in st paul...

If 76 gas stations still exist, they sometimes have higher octane fuel.

actually theres a list of gas vendors in the area that sell NON-OXYGENATED gas 80% of the time, they will also carry leaded high octane gas...

But if you use leaded in a non-leaded motor, you can say hello to hella deposits and goodbye to every electrical sensor in the fuel path, like vital O2 sensors, unless its going in the Vette. You could also try water injection as well. Thats an effective way to avoid knock in an engine, but its only tactful in racing situations.
