ouch! you're not asking for a lot are you???

that car will be VERY hard to come by @ a decent price... the 97's are also OBDII. i would suggest that you get a 95 instead...

i would suggest a 1995 also because its obdI and it still has most of the options available along with a lot of bugs fixed from the 93-94's. check out Cars.com (http://www.cars.com). Thats where I found my car, it puts together newspapers and other classifieds into one place and its pretty cool.

If you like the 96-97 taillight style better with the license plate down lower, get the 96 because it will still have cruise control at least.

ask mnprobegt what he thinks of his '97.

kirk got a very stripped 97. unfortunatly most of them were... :(

some of the 95's will have the newer tail lights. for example, mine does and always has. again, i suggest a 95... i would worry less about the bumper/tail lights cause replacement is a one time cost. where repairs... well, you get the point....

One more thing, if you say you have $11,000 to spend on it because your parents are buying it  then nevermind. If its because you think you can afford it, go for something less expensive. Trust me, I was thinking of spending around $9,000 for a car but eventually came to my senses and bought one for around $5,000.

 Welcome To MNPOC

I will get more specific:

1997 Ford Probe (GT or Not) = STRIPPED

*No Rear Wiper
*No Sunroof
*No Cruise Control
*No Interval Wipers
*OBDII

What else am I missing?

Eric.....that's just MY car.......most of those options were available.........I just got one without some very basic options. But this was probably a dealership ordered car. Nobody would order a car without tilt steering or intermintant wipers. OBDII is not that bad........The only real reason to get a 96 or 97 is that they are newer. If you find a 95 in great condition, it is a good buy. Also, if you spend around $7,000 instead of $11,000, you've got lots of money to spend on the car. Which we all know you'll be doing. :)
