I have a 94 Probe GT and the timing belt broke taking some other stuff with it. It is about $2000 in repairs so I am getting a new car. I will sell the whole car for $1000 or best offer. If no one responds about the car, I will sell the 4 tires from it since I put them on no more than a month ago. They are brand new Pirelli's stock size for the GT whatever that is. I will let them go for $60 a piece as they are brand new...less than 1000 miles on them. If anyone is interested in anything, you can reach me at oros0003@umn.edu or at 612-749-1983 or 612-600-7217. Ask for Jeff.

the kl03 is a non-interferance engine... what broke so bad it's going to cost $2000 to repair!?
Jesus, a kl03 from Hughes is like $300...
just swap it on over.

That's kind of what I was wondering. I guess it's not impossible for other things to break...but really....2 grand?

a dealer was going to charge me $1500 for mine. I also asked about the water pump. So I did it myself for $200. total time of work on it was about 8 hours. I'm sure I could cut that time in half now that I know how to do it and what to look for. haven't had a problem after that.

Timing belt went out on the 94 Probe GT... needs some work to run again. Writing to see if anyone is interested in taking it off my hands for parts. I'd like to get a little bit of money out of it. I just replaced the distributor core last month and it has brand new Pirelli tires. The car is in Bloomington and you can reach me on my cell at 612-749-1983... if I don't answer you can try me at work at 952-927-7923. Ask for Jeff or leave a message on the cell.

If the body is still in that kind of condition, I would be interested in it. What else is wrong with it?

Just curious...but what did the timing belt take out???
The 2.5 is a "non-interferance" engine, so the pistons won't come in contact with the valves...unless there was something else changed internally.

Are you totally parting the car out? Here is some parts I could use.
Hood
Front Bumper
Rear hatch (if its rust free)
How much money for these parts if you're parting out
Or how much for the whole car?

Okay, here is the deal....hmmm... I think I may be getting lied to a bit. Even bobby and steve's said that it was an interference engine....but I didn't think so, thanks guys. Andrewpgt....if you can fix my car up cheaper like you say, I would be extremely happy. Yes the water pump went too. The reason I was going to get rid of the car and the reason why it was $2000 to repair was this list from the shop:
timing belt
water pump assembly
timing belt tensioner
idler pulley
alternator drive belt
power steering drive belt
inner tie rods
right front axle shaft assembly
about $1000 in parts and another grand in labor
Jeff, what ever happened with your probe? I have a "94 GT and the timing belt slipped recently and I ,too, was told it could have damaged the valves. Is it worth fixing?

i'm not sure if a slipped timing belt would cause damage. I would have to ask a buddy of mine.
