Yep, it's time for another Charger update!

Things are moving along pretty good. Unfortunatly the pictures don't really show just how much. I'm learning a lot about the car and making some guesses as to what the car had when rolled off the assembly line. I'm convinced that I have a Charger SE so I've decided to build my car as a Charger R/T SE which is the car that I always wanted. I'll be deviating a bit from stock but not so far that I can't ever restore it back to the original. One thing that will be different is the dash. Factory SE cars had woodgrain dashes and since that doesn't really fit the silver exterior/black interior I'll probably scrap that and stick w/my custom black dash that sitting in the back of my mind. In it's own way, that will be a bit of an SE anyway. ;)

One minor thing that I'm pretty excited about is that my all time favorite 1969 Charger ad will (in a way) fit my car when it's done. :D I'm not sure why but this ad has always "spoken" to me...

Anyway, new pics can be found on my website. Big surprise eh?

Keeping in step with past weeks, I was able to go and get a look at the Charger last night. As always, I posted more pictures...

No additional relevations this time around. Just acceptance that it's going to be a bit more work that previously though. Oh well, now is the time to get it done.

A bit out of sync, I stopped in to see the Charger last night. My parents were and town and wanted to give the car a look.

It's like they just spread bondo over the whole car for no reason. I bet the body weighs 200 pounds less with all that extra paint and bondo off of it.

That's a good point, I wish that I would have done a before/after weight. Would have been tough though since we've been removing parts as we've gone along...

Another update from last week (July 1st) posted on my website today. Can't see a whole lot of progress. We're at a point in the project where the work goes slow and pictures don't show a whole lot...

what color are you planning on?

Or have you answered this already.

I probably have answered this but I can again... ;)

I'm currently planning on a metallic silver with black scat stripes similar to the attached diecast.

I haven't updated this thread in a while cause the pictures didn't really show much. They do now though. We got some epoxy and resin on the car and the lines are really starting to come out. There is a lot of resin on the car right now that will be coming off later so it looks worse than it really is... ;)

Anyway, link is in my sig...

Wow, I see what you mean about the body lines starting to come out. The rear fender looked just slightly rounded and smooth before, and now there are distinct creases in it!

I keep rolling in with updates a couple times a week. Quite a bit of progress over the past few. Starting to look like a Charger should look. ;)
