This e-mail is being sent to you as a progress update for Pine Run Motorsports Park, an effort to construct Minnesota's "Next Generation Motorsports Facility". For further information please view our website at www.pinerunracing.com (http://www.pinerunracing.com)
Unless you've been following the local Pine City and Mora Minnesota
newspapers, we haven't said much directly to you, our loyal supporters and champions for construction of Pine Run Motorsports Park but
rest assured, we haven't forgotten about you. In recent months, we have
worked dilegently to make Pine Run Motorsports Park more of a reality than
ever before. So many of you have contacted us with your overwehlming support and questions varying from "bring on the drag strip" to "how can I buy a road course membership"? We really appreciate all of your questions and
look forward to more.
As you can imagine, a project of this type and size brings out alot of
passion by motorsports enthusiasts and also some by those less inclined to
deal with change in their community. What we've found at our Henriette
location is an overwhelming number of local supporters and a small
passionate group of local residents that do not welcome change with
construction of a motorsports facility in their community. This has not
changed our focus or drive for Pine Run and our original intentions to build
Minnesota's "Next Generation Motorsports Facility".
To give you a feel for our activities over the past few months, we have
worked on the environmental issues and questions for "motorsports
facilities" as required by the State of Minnesota and various Federal
Government agencies. This project requires a lot of work and time, and each
member of our team is committed to seeing this through. The process we have endured in this time is not for the light hearted. Hurdles and challenges
face us daily. Recent questions about other track developments in Minnesota
and the current state of Minnesota's well know Brainerd race track have also
prompted encouragement by so many of you to build, build build! We're
getting there and all we can really say is stay tuned for some major
developments. Continuing to give you some insight to our activities, we have
worked closely with Pine County as the "Responsible Government Unit"
assigned to handle the "Environmental Assessment Worksheet EAW" as
stipulated by the State of Minnesota. This is a lengthy document required by
the State to address everything from Air Emmissions to Noise Pollution,
Drainage, Traffic and Wetland issues just to name a few. Some of these
issues may seem simple to address but the studies actually require fairly
lengthy responses and professional opionion on a variety of issues. Not to
bog you down on the details but this truly has been a learning experience
for everyone involved.
Moving forward and where are we headed? Through many public presentations, we've talked openly about our intentions to offer road course memberships on our 3.3 mile road course and the construction of a championship drag strip and competitve go karting facility. To refresh your memories, we also have plans to construct a large golf course type clubhouse for road course members, over 200 individual racer garages, banquet facilities and even a helicopter landing area! Earlier reference to Minnesota's "Next Generation Motorsports Facility" is really how we view our project. We appreciate and enjoy the fact that thousands of people in our state enjoy participation or viewing of motorsports and as we eluded to earlier, we've heard from hundreds of you to make this a reality.
Over the next few months, we will continue our drive and efforts to bring
you what you want but now we want to ask something of each of you. Many of you have been so kind to sent a letter or e-mail to the local newspapers in
support of Pine Run but we'd like to hear from every one of our supporters
in the same fashion. No matter where you live or the level of your interest,
we need your positive letters and e-mails to local Pine County and state
government and the news - sports media in your area. We're counting on the
fact that the ultimate construction and operation of Pine Run will affect
each of you as racing participants or spectators and would appreciate
something more from you, our extended family of supporters. Some local and
national sports writers around Minnesota have reported on our plans but lets
create some excitment with your personal letters to these folks. We'd be
happy to address any questions they have but we truly would like to see your
involvment by contacting these folks with your positive input. There really
is a much larger picture here and we intend to ultimately make a large
impact on many forms of motorsports in Minnesota.
To give you some examples, the Twin Cities news media with the Minneapolis and St. Paul news print is a likely choice for your comments. Pat Reusse the
well known sports writer for the Star Tribune can be e-mailed directly at
preusse@startribune.com as example. Many others around Minnesota and the midwest or in your local communities can also be contacted for a potential story on our efforts. Typically, many types of business would not go to these lengths to lobby support but as you look around, our state is limited on the number of places you can go to legally enjoy your passion for speed and motorsports entertainment. For this, we welcome you and your motorsports friends to get involved by taking the time and making these contacts. It kind of sounds like a plea for Public Television membership but we'd like you to get involved and take the awareness up a few notches. If you need any help in making a contact, we'd be happy to lead you in the right direction.
Pine County, the county we intend to build in would also entertain your
input. The Pine City newspaper, "The Pine City Pioneer" editor would like to
hear from you as well. The adjoining county, Kanabec County and their
newspaper "The Kanabec Times" is also a good source for input. Each of these can be reached through letters to the editor as follows:
editor@pinecitymn.com or editor@moraminn.com but again, no matter where you live, motorsports writers and enthusists in your area will more than likely
find great interest in our efforts.
We'll continue to keep you aware of "happenings" with Pine Run Motorsports
Park and our progress. We're very glad to hear from many of you in your initial contacts to our website but don't hesitate to write us with your comments and questions.
We appreciate your support!
